What would happen to planet earth if the human race were to suddenly disappear forever, wiped out by a plaque of the undead? Would ecosystems thrive? What remnants of our industrialized world would survive? What would crumble fastest? We have wondered this ourselves. However, as the History channel will tell us tonight, from the ruins of ancient civilizations to present day cities devastated by natural disasters, history gives us clues to these questions and many more.  While sadly ignoring the effect of a massive zombie outbreak on the living world, the History channel does explore what our world might be like though their special “Life After People“, which airs January 21st, 2008 at 9pm EST.

Though the staff here normally sticks to strictly informational posts, and attempts to refrain from reviewing Hollywood’s attempt at informing the public about the pending zombie outbreak, it is difficult to argue against posting a George A. Romero project.  Many consider his projects more documentaries than fiction as he has an uncanny insight into the realm of the undead.

Of note in the trailer, is the comment “I think it is time to leave this place.” Which could spark debate about your zombie plan and how and when going mobile would be the best idea.  We would love to hear your opinions about the trailer and what type of world we might find ourselves in after the attack.

For those who have not heard of the Zombie Reporting Center website, pay them a visit and add them to your favorites.  Always interesting and frequently updated.  While reading their RSS feed this evening, this report stood out: ”The Post-Apocalyptic Workout“.  Take a moment to read it as it contains valuable insight into the survival tactics needs for when the dead walk the earth.

I feel that the zombie workout is an often times overlooked area of preparing for the attack of the undead.  I myself am guilty for not preparing in certain areas and look to the near future to change those bad habits to ensure my survival.  We are interested in your planning and training for the dark times ahead.  How are you preparing?
