I don’t work, im 13. But i would nick a load of deodrant out of any bags left over from people legging it , set fire to arandom deparment, uh hu maths! Spread it with books, uh hu maths books. Go into the toilets, flood them, so i don’t get burned to death. And probably have a poo.

Same For me, my “work” is school. unfortunately for me… i live in a very hilly city, in the middle of a desert, on the Colorado river. nowhere to go and running wears you out fast because a) the heat, b) the slopes, and c) the distance.

My school is several different buildings, so an outside school. its not difficult to get onto the roof, there is only one 2 story building. Im guessing about 1700 students.

My plan would depend on the time of day this zombie massacre happened and who I was with. first of all i would find a weapon, schools often have items that can be surprisingly effective such as desks or books, etc. Next is to look around and guesstimate the number of zombies and take into account where I am and who is with me.

I would try to get to the theater building, its the easiest to climb.
If i couldnt get there, i would get to the history building, the ony 2 story building. It has the Sturdiest doors. barricading the stairs should stop them from getting up.
If neither of these is reachable, leave campus. Even though it will be hard because of the heat/slope/distance mentioned above, added with the threat of said infection, i would attempt to reach my house. not a huge arsenal and few supplies as of yet, but better than school.

In any case, once i got to a point where i was sure i would be relatively safe for a little bit, i would call freinds that i know have guns, transportation, etc. and plan a get together and a way out.

i havent ever planned this before… i know shame on me, but i dont have resources.

I have to say, I’d be pretty much screwed. “work” for me is school.
My high school has about 2200 kids (yes, I did type that correctly).
However, before school my I tend to hang out in the commons/entrance area wih my girlfriend and a couple of our friends. If the zombies were inside and ripping people to pieces, mass hysteria would probably occur. My master plan would be to grab my girlfriend by the arm and start a mad sprint to the fine arts wing, because there are three doors there that I hope less people will think of, while the two main entrances will probably be clogged with hundreds of kids. Once outside, depending on how many zombies there were, it would either be a) Get back inside and hide somewhere, if there are too many to escape on foot or by car.
b) Attempt to hitch a ride out of there with someone we know (preferred option) or c) If there don’t seem to be many around, hoof it to her house. (Her Dad is a hunter, and she lives in a rural-ish area within a few miles of the school).

Of course, this plan would probably fall through immediately due to other people coming with us (neither one of us would really want to leave our friends) and the number of zombies outside, or, possibly (*shudder*) the school locking down.

If we were to get stuck inside, the first throught would be to barricade ourselves into a first floor classroom and get out through the window if they started to break in.

I work in a kitchen, so i’d grab the pizza cutter (aka the pizza sword as i call it) and the meat hammer and get ready to get the f**k outta Dodge. I could escape off the roof and over the side of the building OR go through unused, unlight, and probably unsafe (or bum filled :P ) bootlegger tunnels that are locked up in the basement. Always wanted to break into those and see whats up anyways :) There is of course a door to the back alley right in the kitchen but i figure an alleyway in a downtown area is not the best place to confront zombies.

I have no clue how i would get home. I drive 20 minutes, so thats about 10-12 miles through zombie territory with only a meat tenderizer from hell and a big ass single edge knife.

This is all assuming zombies didnt bust right into the kitchen and devour everyone right away anyhow. And lets not mention the unlocked front doors for customers and the WALL OF WINDOWS.

i work in a large grocery store with only on large window and one door in and one door out.the building is made of brick and once every six hours a man from the bank company comes in and takes away the money.he is armed with a 38.special and they have shotguns in the armoured cars.if i called a cashier code 20 over the intercom we are instructed to evacute[or chase]out all the coustomers
and the main windows and doors get locked down by a manually operated steel rool down shutter that is an inch thick and behind that there are four rows of shopping carts 100 carets to a row.we have a sealed meat vault which can be opened or closed from the inside which would be great to hide in.each employee gets issued a knife for “box cutting”the blade is four inches long and perfectly balenced for throwing[believe me i’ve done it]there is another entrance/exit in the back right next to the loading bay for new shipment trucks.there is a baseball bat in the breakroom….god my workplace is a fortress
we also have hardware things like tools.dirt.seeds.tarps for catching rain and it’s in british columbia so we’d get enough rain.oh and i forgot about the meat section they have a bunch of cleavers
and the fruit department has a chainsaw type thing for slicing twelve watermelons at a time.we have our own generator and enough gas to last for a year with minimum usage.as well as solar pannels and three mini windmills on the roof…….fuck me if zombies rise i am so going to work……

Unemployed atm, so my “workplace” is non-existent, unless you count me doing stuff at home as a job. Then, I’m not really sure I’d worry much. 2nd floor apt w/patio gives me several exit options, and the zeds only 1 option for getting in [the front door]. All I’d have to do is lock & block the door, grab any essentials I can carry while still moving light, and just hold my position. If food got low, I’m able enough to make the 2nd story jump plus a run to the supermarket. Just gotta take a backpack with me to put the groceries in and maybe a duffel bag as well. I have numerous things I could carry with me as a blunt weapon [no firearms], and I’ve had enough practice climbing on things that climbing right back up to my patio [or to the roof in a more secure spot, then down to my apt if there are too many of them in that particular area].

However, if my apt were to become compromised, I could easily make my way to a gun shop, then to one of the very large buildings located all around the city. I know people are gonna be all, “Wait. Why not do that instead of your current plan?” Easy. Because I’m just fine where I’m at. Besides, I like challenges. It’s more fun and/or interesting that way. And if I get infected on one of my little grocery runs? I must’ve made a very foolish mistake in letting them get close enough to infect me, and so I must have deserved it.

I work in a data center. Not very many people around, and pretty secure. In the event of an attack, I would try to make it home where I have multiple firearms, with tons (not literally) of ammo. Once there, I would pack up everything I need for survival, and then proceed to hunt down everyone I disliked (zombie or not) such as former friends, co-workers, douche-bags and anyone else that needs killin’ . If they are not a zombie, who’s to say that they wouldn’t become one later. After that, I suppose I’d just start killin’ zombies until they get me. If that doesn’t happen, once their all gone, I’m going to start populating the planet again. After all, I’ll be one fo the few males left on the planet, so I’ll have a lot of work to do.

I’m a mechanic and my shop packs more heat than my gun locker at home. Working with a bunch of country boys has its advantages and they like to keep a few things at the shop (I’ve even heard tale of a ‘Berret’ floating around the place, but I doubt it. I keep a Remington 20 gauge and a Marlin .22 in my jeep almost all the time ,with enough ammo to have the cops worried, (never know if you might find a good trophy around there)

Aside from all the regular tools and supplies you’d expect at a shop its set up for auto maintenance (large and small vehicles) and custom fabrication. Complete with milling tools and basic stock. Why? Its for all the dairies in the area and when shit happens they come to us.

On top of that the hurricanes we get down here in Florida have built up its defenses over time. Twin diesel generators and a small propane automatic generator keep it up and running 24-7, and a stock of MREs for about 50 people for 6 months are a standard supply requirement by my employers. Big horizontal track doors on the front and back have taken hurricane winds, ramming from tractors and buggies, and repeated attempts at break ins. Roof access is difficult but doable.

So, I guess if I’m at work I might be better off there than at home.

Actually i have. at one of the 2 jobs i currently hold, i wash semi-trucks by the highway. This location actually provides fantastic vantage as its on a hill, and the countless amounts of semi-trucks that are nightly parked in the lot just to the east would mean an increased amount of supplies, and possibly armed escape should the need arise. theres a huge open field to the west, containing a private airfield. even better for escape, assuming the pilots and crew arent complete finkinsh tools. and as i live in huntsville texas (ugh) you might know it as “prison city, USA,”
i have often considered the possibility of a prison for a BOA. they are made so that none can enter or leave without permission. foot thick solid steel doors, 2 per entrance mind you. 3 rows of fences that are each approx. 30ft in height, with an outward sloping top and almost a 100 miles of razor wire coiled around. and the inmates would be dead, but not due to infection of the zombie horde. due to starvation. and the remaning ones, i would let them escape or let them join my side. not with gun. call me stupid but i wouldnt have the heart to leave them locked up while i ran about their facility eating and sleeping and surviving, while they could do nothing but look on in admiration.
i suppose its better than being doomed to scuttle about moaning inexplicably munching on former neighbors and employers.
