I'm not in too great of shape right now, even though I am still very fit considering my lifestyle. I'll be joining a gym once I can fit it into my finances, and I'm planning on building myself up and conditioning so I can start training for parkour/freerunning by the end of the year. Hoping to get plenty of experience with that before August '11.

Started at the YMCA at the start of the year, but primarily I've been hauling dirt around the house in the wheelbarrel "land-scaping." At this point I'm not much better use than zombie corpse disposal once the hard cores have rendered them inert again. Working up some mean shovel skill tho, so if the zombie apocalypse holds off till summer, I may be in wicked better shape.

So far my anti-zombie exercise regime is pretty simple. I've been jogging every day, getting progressively better and better at it (able to go farther, faster, and longer). I figure being able to run quickly and for long distances should be the #1 focus of anti-zombie exercise training, because, ignoring all other survival means like firearms, as long as you can stay out of the reaches of the creatures that would eat your brains, you'll survive.

Ahhhh...nothing like a couple of zombie hordes chasing to get your heart pumping for some cardio vascular exercise.

Well, luckily for me, I'm in the best shape of my life. I recently lost about 35 pounds and have developed a pretty good workout regime centered around bodyweight exercises, and sandbag drills, stuff you can do at home. So I've got that going for me.

I can also make soap and yogurt and am knowledgable about my weapons. I camp often so I have a lot of equipment and am aware how to use it. I also know several trails in the area that can get us to different places instead of taking streets.

I can grow vegetables and I know of a few locally "hidden orchards" where I can procure apples, pears and peaches if the time is right.

I mend my own clothes rather than listening to the wife to just "throw them out".

I do have basic firestarter kits made with cotton balls and vaseline and a magnesium firestarter. I've never made a fire from sticks but I've gotten it smoking. If I had to I guess I could spend the 45 minutes it takes and eventually get a fire going. I just wasn't going to do it when I had matches in my pocket. Starting fires with sticks is tough.

I could probably use a refresher course in CPR and basic first aid although I have first aid kits at home and in every car.

I think I could be rather usefull to a survival party.
