Zombie Scenario: 4 Quick Questions

While we might feel that we are prepared, have you actually considered the steps you would take during a zombie attack? The ”Zombie Scenario” helps with that task. Here is the situation (free ZAC stickers are being passed out now so pay attention!):
The whole world has been infected. You are now ready to enact your zombie survival plan. You get to choose:
- One weapon
- One song
- One place
- One time (i.e. time of day)
“Zombie Scenario” is meant as a learning and discussion exercise used as a tool for getting your mind thinking about the outbreak. It should prove helpful to think about a specific scenario and have others review your potential plan. If you have a scenario you would like to see discussed, contact us. Each month, a random post (which contains a complete reply) in the scenarios will be contacted for a free ZAC sticker.
This month’s scenario was borrowed from the exceptionally cool people on the Naature forum.
Stay safe. Stay informed. Stay alive.

As for me personally, here is my list:
- .45 Glock (easy to tote and reload)
- God’s Gonna Cut You Down - Johnny Cash
- Far from any big city
- 10am

Nice choices, Admin. I choose:
-Springfield XD 9mm (lighter ammo, bigger clips)
-This one is hard. Music is such a huge part of my life. Either “Devil’s Right Hand”- Johnny Cash, or “Dopesmoker” - Sleep.
-My college town in Oklahoma (small, semi remote, tons of outbreak educated and equipped friends)
-Any time during the semester. Just so long as I am sober when the shit hits the fan.

- .9mm (along w/ .45 its always by my bed. I would also grab my AR if time allowed. I take the 9mm and .223 over others because they are standard NATO rounds which means you will find them at any .mil installation.)
- Lords Of Destruction - Black Label Society (1919 Eternal)
- I currently live in Seattle so I am already stuck in a big city. Luckily I live fairly close to Lake Union which provides a direct route to the ocean and there are lots of boats near by. I would snag a boat and take it down the coast to southern Oregon. I would head inland from there and depending on the time of year may have to wait out the weather until it is safe to cross the mountains to the midwest. I head to the midwest because the population is somewhat less than on the coasts and.. im from there so i know the area and the growing seasons (need foods man.)
- Time? well it will happen at whatever time it happens. But if i had to choose the time I would say in the morning (0800) so that I might have more daylight to execute my boating plan listed above.

-The ZAC-approved Glock
-”Fight Fire with Fire” by Kansas
-Las Vegas, where I live. I know the area well, know where the less-densely populated areas are, and places for temporary defense until I can get out to someplace safer.
- 8pm. It gets dark and MUCH cooler than the day. Harder to see if the streetlights are out, but less risk of dehydration and heatstroke.

Weapon of choice - My smith and wesson model 5246 9mm. I have quite a few 15 round magazines which would allow for extended fire without reloading (another mag). The reload between magazines is so fast that it doesn’t really even play into the equation. It also helps that I have access to about 2000 rounds at any given time.
Music - as corny as it sounds the song “bodies” by Drowning Pool is my all time favorite to get me pumped.
Place - The fire department in the small town I live in. Thick conrete walls, roof access, very large, secure steel doors, plenty of melee weapons if my ammo runs out as well as being just across the street from the only grocery store in town making quick supply runs much safer. The town also has no access by road and would take weeks to walk to through the bush. There is a large fuel station nearby as well. The population is small (under 500) making the threat much smaller. Being in this arctic community there is ample supplies as the population is forced to order in bulk when the river barges come through with supplies. That being the case you could survive well over a year with the dry goods and fuel available.
Time - I would prefer late evening in the summer time as it is sunny 24 hours a day but is less intense late in the evening. I am also somewhat of a night owl and am more alert around midnight then I am in the morning.

One Weapon - My fist (gloved), as a trained martial artist I can punch through a solid pine board, imagine the impact that would have on the skull of a calcium deprived zombie.
One Song - Wish you were here by Pink Floyd. There is going to be a lot of dead people I am going to miss, what better why to grieve their memories then by listening to the musical genius from a lost generation while I rock my face off.
One Place & Time - Being a master of time and space, transcending multiple dimensions across all multiverses it would be literality physically impossible for me to be in only one place at once. However, I shall amuse this idea and will have to agree with my friend Dragonfly. I live in the same isolated arctic community which is where I would stay and our similarly in plans ends there. I would not choose our twenty-four hour daylight summer, I would choose our twenty-four hour night time winter. In the rare off chance a zombie does make it to our isolated community, the aurora borealis would act as sky flowers(1), distracting the zombies, rendering them to the threat level a child could handle.

1. A double bladed handaxe. Silent and never runs out of ammo.
2. “War Machine” by Kiss.
3. Any place. I deal with the situation. There’s no real safe place anyway. Be always ready to move on if a place gets invaded.
4. 11 am. Right after my first cup of coffee. If the world ends that’s the last thing of “normality” I’d like to enjoy.
Kasper on 25 Jun 2008 at 3:54 am #
An axe or maul, long shaft, endless ammo. Axe is best for getting through locked doors and fences, so that one is my fav. Sadly, the zombies get rather close before efficiency sets in, but I won’t be making as much attention-whoring noise.
I think I’d prefer “Kung Fu Fighting” by Carl Douglas. Good sound, and great for close combat.
Living in Denmark, I have a thousand small islands to wait out the end times on. Put me in or near a harbor area with accessible small vessels available. If there’s fishing boats too, I can probably out-maneuver most zombie groups in piles of net, it’ll take their slow minds ages to figure out. Also a fair number of extra tools around harbors. Plus, my safe haven could be BOTH a score of miles of sea from the nearest zombie, AND have a water-proof roof over my bed.
Time ought to be Spring-to-Fall, as frozen water could be a serious problem to this plan. Since a lot of leisure-craft are out at sea on sunny days, a rainy day would give me more choices. Night is not practical, I tend to sleep them, even when zombies roam.

one weapon-my AR-15 I reload my own rounds. near or fare I’ll drop you to the ground.
one song- mudvayne’s dig fast and loud.
one place- my hunting camp it is high up in the hills and the closest town is 35 miles. there is proble only 4 to 5 hundred people in the hole town.
one time- 9 am get the day off to a good start sending zombies back to hell.
splint.chesthair on 25 Jun 2008 at 7:58 am #
I think I take my Mossberg Persuader. 8-shots, 12 gauge, and carries the option of bashing some sku;ls in with the butt of the gun. Shells are easy enough to come by.
Song? I think it’d be funny to have a sappy sweet pop song like “I want Candy.” or “Barbie Girl”. Hear something like that enough times and you’d be itching for a fight.
Place? I have a cabin in the woods with a shortwave radio that I think has spare batteries ( I should check on that).
Time? I usually get up at 4:30A.M. I’d choose this time. People are notoriously lazy, even with a zombie attack coming. This’d give me a few hours of cover of darkness or dawn light and then the entire daylight to plan while on the go, or stop and rest, depending on the situation. Though there’s not a lot of traffic at 4:30 in the morning.
Maleia on 25 Jun 2008 at 8:54 am #
-Weapon: I’ll go with the Glock, since it is now the official zombie defense weapon. As long as I have an ass-ton of ammo.
-Song: “Bang bang” by Cher
- Place: There’s this little red silo or grain house in a large open field just outside of town in Joplin, where I live. Easy to get on top of. Across the street there’s a little stone something or other that remind me of a bunker or semi-storm shelter… Good for target practice and storage maybe. There are also plenty of places very close by to escape to. There’s a railroad track… but I haven’t thought much of how that might be helpful or harmful.
Time: During the summer when there is the most light, about 5 in the morning because it means that I lasted another night of apocalypse, plus I’ve got the entire day to shoot up zombies.
sanjit on 25 Jun 2008 at 10:02 am #
Weapon: AS50 with scope and bipod
Song: Survive- Dope
Place : Alaska, since zombies don’t have body heat they will freeze and all during winter, plenty of time to gather more supplies.
Time: Fall, because its the best time of the year to go outside, and if there are leaves all over the ground it will be even easier to hear zombies coming.

since guns run out of bullets i would take my hatchet with two and a quarter foot long handle,it’s all one piece and it has a steel shaft running down to a rubber handle, with utility axe head ,nail puller and hammer head on the back with compass in the hilt of the handle.
my song would be either ring of fire by jhonny cash or some trance dance song like sandstorm by darude
where i would be would have to be courteny bc it’s a small town with fewer than 2000 residents and it has a fairly large military base out side the limits of the town, the soil is quite fertile and gardening supplies are plentiful because of the large contingent of elderly that live there there are also three stores in the town that sell firearms
which is unusual for a canadian town but there is a large amount of wild game in the area especially deer.
As for a time i would choose mid june at around 8 am
sorry for the long post

Weapon - Handgun of any kind. They’re versatile, small, lightweight, easy to carry, easy to re-load, and maneuverable. They take up next-to-none space in my Zombie Survival Pack, and I’m a fairly good shot.
Song - I neither want nor need one. Music is a distraction. I need to stay alive. If I have to choose: Kashmir - Led Zeppelin.
Place - I’m going to stick with what I know; a small rural town in central Indiana. My current town has about 700 people and lots of flat, rolling farmland. Not a lot of places to hide, but there’s also a pretty small chance a zombie could hide from me. I work in a very small convenience-type grocery store/market (to which I have front door keys). It has two back-up generators, underground gas reserves, food, closed-circuit security cameras, three offices (which are very much like panic rooms), etc. It has only three doors and very few windows. Fortification would be a no-brainer.
Time - Ideally, not winter. Other than that, it would be nice if everything went down during late afternoon. That would give me plenty of time to get my gear and my team over to the store and get ourselves shut in by nightfall. Then, the waiting game begins.

Weapon: Double headed battle-ax
Song: Power of Thy Sword (Manowar)
Place: any bottleneck between the hordes and my escaping loved ones.
Dsurion on 26 Jun 2008 at 12:33 am #
Weapon: Lochaber Axe - walking stick, zombie decapitator and wood gathering utensil, all rolled into one.
Song: Hellmarch 2 - Frank Klepacki.
Place: Up the interstate until I hit the coast and get out of the desert, ideally avoiding cities unless I need to scrounge for food & water. Eventually I would make my way toward Vancouver Island in Western Canada, where I spent much time on vacation with my grandmother. Guess I’d just ‘disappear’ after that…survival training, go!
Time: Early morning, say sixish, sometime in the winter, definitely after the initial panic and mass exodus. Not that it ever gets cold per se here in SoCal, but I would definitely not want to be on the freeways during the summer. Talk about the fast track to buzzard food. Plus, it might even be spring by the time I get to someplace that actually gets snow.

Desert Eagle .50 bullets are gonna suck to find but there is going to be some serious zombie splatter while the ammo lasts.
Godsmack’s I Stand Alone or maybe Disturbed’s Down with the Sickness, so much good music to slay zombies too. Can’t we have a playist?
It would have to be at home since I can’t think of anyplace else I’d carry a .50 hand cannon around.
Right after a great lunch! Nothing says zombie slayage like a big ass steak and mashed potatoes. Plus the adrenaline rush would keep you awake through the afternoon zzzzz’s and help you burn off some of the calories at the same time. Win-win-score!

Well, I love my katana, and i just recenlty silenced it so the tsuba and copper plates dont make sounds, but in a close in environment like a traffic jam, you gotta have something smaller, and even wazakashi is poor tool.

3. Near my buddies, so NYC. Yes, i know its a deathtrap. yes, im being weak. Im not leaving them if there is still hope (not infected yet)

alright well firstly, i would suit up in a full leather outfit with chainmail on the outside making it impossible for zombies to bite/rip or tear through to my delicious flesh.
no to business…
i would pick a melee weapon best suited for hacking and slashing large groups… possibly a chainsaw of fortefied sword
and i would be battling hordes of zombies whilst blearing Pendulum’s song titled Vault
i would pick some sort of reinforced 2 story establishment on the top of a hill..
dawn would probably be the best time to move out…

Hmm…..I’ll try this again.
# One weapon - MEU(SOC) pistol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MEU%28SOC%29_pistol) And yes, it’s a .45
# One song - Cry to Jesus - 3rd Day
# One place - Local, fortified, accessible roof, hunting store. Lots of weapons, lots of ammo, thick walls and bars…..Just stopping by to get some ammo for the campout with the family; vehicle loaded with supplies, loved ones close at hand.
# One time - As early as possible. Need as much daylight as possible to survive that first day.
On an ethical note: Would you submit to a “strip search” to get into my fortified hacienda? How would you let survivors in without an adequate “bite” search?

Machete (Gerber)
Martial Arts experience gives me just the edge to survive, but after I saw Gerber’s tools. I found my machete, saw blade on one side, hooked point, and axe near the handle. No doubt would that thing slice thru whatever bone or muscle is needed, all I have to really worry about is my arm getting tired. Haha, hell and if I can’t have that, just give me a pack of smokes and I’ll fight them with whatever I can dish out or find at the time.
Disturbed - The Game
This is the song of choice for the reason of adrenaline, I need metal or heavy music to be able to begin a fight with the undead, and then slowly follow to some dave matthews and such as I get used to the slaughtering with near perfection.
Huge parking lot.
I live in Missouri, considering the cities and such that I’ve been through I know my way around enough to be able to escape or fight with some tactical advantage. I live in the forest but if I had to truly pick my onslaught of zombies, it would definantly be in a parking lot. Considering the options of cover inside a building, seeing my territory all around, and being able to take on a fuck load of them when I am feeling cocky in the middle of the lot. God I can’t wait.
6AM
Morning, the sun is now coming up and I usually go to sleep around now. I get a great view of whats coming towards me and its usually pretty quiet this early around my area.

- Whatever M14 or varient I could fine. I have a M1A (civilian model) but I’d like to have a M14 EBR. Very capable as a long range weapon as well as for room clearing if it is one of the more compact varients.
- Torpedoes by MDFMK (I think…I spent like 30 minutes on this one)
- My home town of Crawfordsville, IN. Fairly small, plenty of useful reasources (Armoury, hunting stores, a Super Walmart), dying town, I know the place pretty well.

Weapon? Most weapons require ammunition, which can run out. If I had an endless supply I’d pick a flamethrower. If it’s realistic, well, a long-handled, light axe. For swinging and chopping and whatnot.
Song? Vater Unser - E Nomine
Place? Somewhere cold. Perhaps in the mountains, the Cascades. I live in Washington and there are areas there which are difficult to get to by any means and very remote.
Time? Daybreak.

1. I would have to say I would like a recurve bow. quiet and very efficient at its job. like Deckard said they are going to be deprived of calcium and the meat will be very gushie so thw arrows job will be easier. However if I have to have a gun the I would go with the glock. handleed one before and its not too bad.
2. My song would have to be The Call or any reall mello but inspiring song. I am um twitchy to begin with and anything very jolting along with the zombie masses would probably kill me.
3. I live in a small town and I pretty much know where all the keys are in the next two houses. This town has a benifit its very close to the highway and if I am smart I can take the senic routes which runs along the senic routes. This way I can get to the water. Its best to get to the water and wait a while. I figure zombies would be modivated to go to where the food is and that will not be near the coast.
4. Time I would prefer middle of the day. I know where I am going and the darkness clouds things

To outline the basics of my zombie survival plan.
One weapon..
I’d go with a .22 rifle as well.
Pretty easy to pick up various sorts of ammo, scopes, silencers and extended clips for it to replace any that get worn out or just broken by accident, and if you later raid any guns n’ ammo store you should easily find a pistol and possibly more ammo than you can carry. On that note, interchangable ammo for rifle and sidearm, means more room for food and tools I think. Granted, it is less powerful than the .45’s other people have listed, but I can’t shake the feeling that splattering Z brains around is a unneeded risk of infection, when the proper .22 round should destroy the brain well enough.
One song…
Metallica - Until it sleeps.
I’ve had that song running while playing games such as resident evil since forever. It strikes chord in my head.
One place…
Would have to go with my home town.
Granted, it’s possibly a bit bigger than I’d like, but without knowing my way around I’d be chow in no time. I go by the ‘maneuver-and-outrun’ theory untill I have barricades up hard. Here, I know where the gun shops are and where to turn a industrial building into a fortress with merely a few hours work with a welding torch and a bit of muscle work. That place, it is covered by parking lots all around and stacks of metal of all types and designations. Good visibility while working, outside wall already made of metal panels for durability and very few windows on first floor. Half of first and second floor is offices and and employee area, even has a small cafeteria. The works. Last I checked they were even understaffed like hell, less Z’s to clear out. Even has internal stairs to the roof, which is conveniently flat with a solid guard railing all around.
One time…
Sure don’t think I’ll be able to choose the time when that day comes, but….
Around four and five in the morning, early enough to appropriate whatever supplies I need without all the looters looking for what they consider valuable getting in my way.

weapon: springfield XD 45 (currently), plus assorted others (M16A2, M14, M60, .50 cal, mk 16 auto grenade, 25mm, mini gun) and melee weapons found at my location
song: well, i got the pod, so as long as it holds a charge and our generators keep running… but if i had to pick one, well, i probably couldnt. maybe something poppy like “kids” by MGMT
place: lot of weapons listed, right? i am on a US navy warship (arleigh burke class guided missile destroyer) so i would get there ASAP (hopefully before a base shutdown). we always keep a full fuel and food (especially dry stores, but fresh food enough for a month or so) compliment, and ammo and weapons are abundant. in addition to the single, easy-to-defend access point, it has of course the option for mobility. also, i’d like to see a walking corpse climb these ladders. i know every inch, every valve, door etc. on this ship, and we conduct routine security training on how to lockdown/enter spaces occupied by armed assailants, let alone the walking dead.
time: hopefully while im onboard, so i’d say around 9 am.

Weapon: Axe, I’m not a great shot with firearms but I live with people who are I’ll let them have the guns and the ammo.
Song: It’s the End of the World as We Know It, or Time Warp
Place: Were I am currently living is in a small gun crazy town where there would be plenty of warning if any zombie attack happened. The house that I live in is 2 stories and there are at lest 3 people living here that are excellent marksmen. And next door is the ranger station were the local forest service guy lives. We have 2 heavy duty pick up trucks that would easily be able to take out zombie hordes. The town it’s self is at the base of a Mountain range so if the town could not be defended the there is a viable escape rout.

1.) Weapon: Shovel - Any will do, good whacking weapon, and a digging tool. If there isnt a defense ready, make one. :d
2.) Song: “Why cant we be friends” - Smash Mouth. Easily bringing a smile to the face of any living being.
3.) Location: (Ah, the best question, and the one that matters the most…) My friends and I, all always on the lookout for the first signs of Z-Day, all agree that the T-Hanger, at the local airfield would be our first logical solution for weathering out the initial outbreak. Reinforced doors, ample room for say, ourselves, our quarters, and eeven our vehicles would be available, and as we find ourselves on an airfield surrounded by chainlink fences, it would give us a good place to start in. My choice after that would depend on how the shufflers react.
4.) Time: A morning incursion would spell disaster for me, as I can say, without a doubt, that even with adrenaline pumping, I would still be sleepy, illreasoning, and prone to mistakes. I would have to say noonish, with the sun overhead, and plenty of time to make my way to the stages of my zombie survival plan, I would have a good chance of getting to my safe zone without incident.

* Crowbar- It is useful not only as a weapon, but to pry open locked containers and doors. Also it really can’t break like a wooden shaft can.
* I suppose Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. It would keep me calm and let me not lose my head, as any kind of angry music might make me think irrationally.
* I would prefer to be in the Yukon near a lake. In the winter most of the zombie’s bodies would be frozen, so for at least 6 months of the year I’ll be safe, and the terrain is so rough and rugged I would be able to easily escape from a zombie.
* If it were to happen I would prefer it to happen in mid-October when the leaves are falling in the morning at about 8am.

Weapon: A Bowsword. Don’t knock it till you try it. Can be efficient at long range as well as short. Bullets aren’t the only thing that can penetrate a brain or skull. Accuracy could be an issue. Once I run out of ammo, I have a moderately efficient sword to take down what I can.
Song: “Ridin’ the Storm Out” by REO Speedwagon
Place: The supermarket where I work. Plenty of ladders to reach places zombies can’t, enough supplies (on high shelves) to last me a lifetime, meat to use as bait. I would probably stay on top of one of the shelves. Nothing short of a bulldozer could bring them down. The aisles are close enough together that an 80-year-old woman could jump well enough from one to the next (Alternative: use a ladder as a bridge). Finally, above each aisle is a wide air conditioning vent that two people could climb into at a time. The air vents reach strategic locations all over the store, including the virtually impregnable windowless room with a heavy steel door and bolt locks where the safe is kept. Even if it were broken into, any survivors could get back into the vent with just a moment’s warning. The vents also reach the roof and the sides of the building should escape need to be immediate. How does that sound?

Weapon : an AK-47. Since I have next to no knowledge of weapon maintenance, this would limit that weakness. But since it’s hard to find, I’d go with any .22 rifle or pistols, since ammunitions are plentiful, and most importantly, I’d know where to find one.
Song : Probably “2000 volts” from big bad voodoo daddy. The idea is not to get myself in the mood, but rather calm myself, and pick up a rythm to shoot those zeds if sh*t hits the fan.
Place : This is a tough one. Costco is near where I live, but I’d probably go with University. More specifically the social pavillon. only 3 access + 1 tunnel. Easy to baricade, lots of furniture, medical supply, food(there’s 5 cafeteria there). Easy access to rooftop for long term survival, and easy to access the agricultural research pavillon(for seeds). Also on the plus side, if there is electricity, the student radio is there too, to keep morale up. And if sh*t hits the fan, I can always go upstaires, only 1 stair(which can be destroyed) and elevator access, and 4 floors to go up if it hits the fan again. I prefered this to Costco, because although there is plenty of supply, I don’t know this area that well, I don’t know the store that well, and I don’t know if there’s rooftop access.
Time : If I had to choose, it would be during summer. Some extra hour of sun, food supply to last until winter, possibility to grow my own food, and if the food supply gets too short, winters here are devastating(sometimes -45 Celsius) to give me time to move somewhere else.
If it was reaction time, I’d go with 3 a.m.. I assume it goes from ‘everything’s’ normal to ‘The city is almost a dead zone’ in a matter of hours. Most people would still be asleep, and the people I’d encounter at the U would probably be guards(not armed, but still a good asset) and other prepared survivor.

Song- In terms of getting sheerly pumped, an old Mosh pit classic for me- We Will Fall Together by Streetlight Manifesto, oddly fittinh to.
Place- Would probably prefer somewhere in the White Mountains of NH, very familiar with the lay of the land, and restauraunts that havent cought on to the whole intense criminal security thing.
Time- Morning, more time to get stuff done in sunlight, and I’m a morning person.
Staycalm on 16 Aug 2008 at 5:09 am #
Weapon: As several people have already mentioned, any .22, be it pistol or rifle, will be available with plenty of ammo. The rounds don’t pack much punch, but a clean head-shot will still drop a Zed. A silencer would be preferable as well. I think I’d stay away from close combat weapons. If I’m close enough to use them I’d rather just be focused on escaping.
Song: Most of the time I wouldn’t be listening to music, but rather for the groans of the living dead. If I had to choose, something with a strong, fairly slow, bass part to keep me focused if I’m ever hunkered down holding back the masses.
Location: This is the toughie. I know all conventional wisdom says to stay away from population centers, but in all honesty, I don’t know how to survive in the wilderness. The most defensible location I’ve ever seen was in Clocktown, Vancouver.
- A three story brick building with thick steel bars on all the windows and doors. The bars make scaling the building fairly easy and there is roof access.
-There are about 10 different grocery stores within 2 blocks, making food easier to scavenge.
-The building is located on the corner of a 4-way intersection providing good visibility and all the buildings on the block are connected, making roof hopping easy for more escape routes.
-The building is a mile or two from the bay and an ass-load of boats of all sizes, just in case you need to get out of the city.
-As an added bonus, this area of clock-town is inhabited by a lot of junkies and schizos so most people stay away, cutting down on the amount of looters (and zombie-bait) you’d get.
As long as you were careful and stayed inconspicuous I think this building could be held for a long time against most any horde. Unless of course you managed to piss off the entire zombified city of Vancouver in which case you might have a problem.
Time: More day is always better. Probably early, before the majority of people figured out what was going on and panicked.

i would bring a dpms .308 AR with a M&P 9mm. the dpms would have the penetrating power to not just go through on zombie but since they seem to cluster together (in the movies any way) it would still have the momentum to go through another one.also since its on an AR platform so it can hold 20rds, a lot more than the usual 3-5rds of a normal sniper type weapon.
the M&P 9mm is newer to the market and i already have it in 45, that and like previously stated 9mm is a nato round like the 7.62
song, that would have to be “you wouldn’t know” by hell yeah

Location: Barricaded in the local Wal-Mart. If you can seal it up right, you have everything you need.
Song: Probably “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins. Basically nothing with too much bass as that’ll just creep you right out. Tense is ok but stressed will get someone killed
Time: daylight. You gotta see them coming! Plus no one wants to hook up all the floodlights just to click them on and be faced by a wall of putrid meat.
Weapon: My wits. As long as you can keep it together anything is a weapon and all you have to do is survive. If I have to choose “something” to make the meat fly well it would probably be the clip fed shotgun. Sure, sure they can be hell to reload but if I am shooting then I am trying to get somewhere and if a couple of shotgun clips won’t help me get there then there is no point.

Weapon- Desert Eagle .50. I’ve got several extra clips and plenty of ammo.
Song- either Get Psycho by disturbed or 99 luftballoons by nena. Although Freebird would be fun.
Place - I live in a megacity (Dallas), so first order of business is getting the hell outta here! I know a few places in the panhandle that are scarcely populated and readily defended.
Time- Early morning. The more daylight the better!

Uzi Formatted for semi-auto work with 50 round mag (yes they have them, and even legal in colorado) for fast reload time, decent accuracy and easily aquireable (should i survive and need to reload) 9mm , while wearing my suit of plate armor (leather and plates…dont require another to get it on), if feasable (estimated don time 1min 30…i made 20 bucks off that bet)
Most anything played by sabaton really loud, as noted for adrenalin rush
On a set of 60 ft high stone steps, with no railings, no attached buildings, and about 2 mil rnds loaded in 50 rnd clips on the landing behind me (yeah their on old 5 story buildings in an L shape wrapped around the building i saw one standing alone when they collapsed an old building, they then pulled it over with chains.)
The time would be after 10 or 11 am…im kinda groggy in the mornin, although any time as i see almost the same distance night or day. (6 carrots a day, 2 each meal, frequently steamed)

Ahem….
Don’t own a gun soooo i’d have to choose something solid, relatively light and had more than just the one use of bashing some zeds noggin to bits so my one weapon would be a crowbar
Age Of Pamparius- Turbonegro
One Place?…hmm i’d have to choose my place of employment, a big warehouse stocked full of water, canned food, warm clothing everythign and anything i would need to sit out a total breakdown of the social fabric that is our “civilized” world
’round noon…ish

Weapon: A personal invention: The Whack-FAK: A normal first aid kit, reinforced with steel, and rather heavy. The sheer irony of being beaten to death with a first aid kit should probably cure any sufferers of anemia as well, and I’m counting on that awful pun to implode the brains of anyone nearby. For that purpose, I ought to travel alone.
Song: John Cage’s 4:33. The awkward silence ought to stun the zombies just enough to get my Whack-FAK in full swing.
Location: Around Niagara Falls. If I’m lucky, I can chuck a zed in a barrel and toss them over. While they’re waiting for the music to start.
Time: Nine in the Afternoon.

i would choose a 45. acp glock with plenty of mags and a 357 the reason i want the extra firepower and not just a 22. or a 9mm which arent bad calibers is chances are not every shot will be a head shot so you should at least have the extra knock down power my song would be bullet with butterfly wings saw guns and ammo inc. preferably 9:00 am plenty of daylight and time to find a hold out or a sturdy way of transportation

weapon of choice would be an infrasound wave generator. It turns organic matter to mush
My song would be louie armstrong “what a wonderful world”
I would have to say i would hold up at the local mall or wallmart for obvious reasons and so that way I might have a chance to rid the world of the zombies that already work there
I have always prefered the night so dusk

Weapon: My Solomon island war club… its heavy, pinty on the tip, and shap round the edges… itd cause alot of damage to a Zed horde
Song: Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen
Place: a highly populated area with heaps of zombies to kill
Time: 6:00am onwards… more time to kill Zed hordes
JB on 06 Oct 2008 at 11:44 am #
1) either my fencing sword (stylish) or some japanese sabre, so convenient when the place’s crowded…
2) some Rage Against the Machine stuff, always appropriate, probably “Killing in the name”…
3) certainly not the african city I currently live in, but some place near a forrest : zombiez don’t climb in trees, and it’s easy to chop their head off with my saber from a low branch
4) in winter, during daylight : you can spot a danger in the snow, and your noises are reduced. This is also valid for zombies, but due do their nature (i assume they have cold blood), they are easier to kill, for they’re numb when it’s freezing

ok gun would be a 22 … i know i know not much punch but you have to admit the bullets are really easy to find and easy to silence
as for song ummm sleepy policeman by junky xl … the reason there is well its a good song and i would really need to relax so i can keep my head clear and do what needs to be done
place… well like one other guy i live near seattle on an island called whidbey so i might head for the local demilitarized fort, fort Casey its a world war two bunker type fort
time… dawn its poetic :)

weapon: ak-47, there are better guns out there but an ak wont jam. but seeing as theres little chance of me finding one and there being ammo tho i’ll go for a kukri, the knife used by the gurkhas (google it and them) as a close combat weapon and a .22 lever action carbine my mate has, we hav a silencer for it. i know that’ll be a bitch to reload but ammo is plentiful and in all fairness i dont know anywhere else reliable to go for a firearm. Australia isnt so gun crazy, i only know of 1 gun shop in my city. and i live in a capital city.
song: clubbed to death- rob dougan. epic last stand music, i think it was in the matrix.
place: my house, i know the area, my family and friends live here or close, and i have the only 2 storey house for miles so i hav good visibility from the roof, which we hav bunker down on coz the zombies would struggle to get up there. if we bug out i go to my nana and grandads house. they hav a big block of land and good line of sight from the house.

Yeah that some interesting questions : (im a bit late i know :p)
1. I guess i’ll take some melee weapon with good range like a spear or at least a long sword , i have skills in this two weapons so it make the deal. (i think i will also took a buckler)
2. so many choices…maybe duke nukem metal theme or highway to hell but i hesitate to choose a calm or happy song for making contrast with the outbreak
3. At my home, i have a lot of stuff to build barricades, i dont live in a crowded place, i have a possibilty to reach higher level and i can survive to a siege with food (and friends !) :p
4. early in the morning 5 or 6 for the daylight, the dawn and all the hope he can bring with him.

“On an ethical note: Would you submit to a “strip search” to get into my fortified hacienda? How would you let survivors in without an adequate “bite” search?”
I’d say go with the strip search for people, but give them a choice to have it done by someone of the same sex if they’re feeling awkward about it.

Weapon: Jungle kukris (2)
Song: “You think I ain’t worth a dollar but I feel like a millionaire”-Queens of the stone age
Place:a remote rock shelf in the Appalachia’s
Time: 3pm

Weapon - a huge warhammer, long shaft, capable of wide swings that could knock zombies down with ease. I would Target their heads, necks, and legs. If The Zeds nervous system is working then hitting their necks would paralyze them, giving me the ability to slay them at my own leisure. a Drawback would be that I would be tired out quicker than someone with different weapon.
Song - Dark Saga by Iced Earth, a song about our favourite Tom McFarlane hero Spawn, epic song, and gets my adrenaline up, of my current music library this would probably the most epic to sing along to while smiting my foes.
Place: An Island that is preferable in a moderate climate, capable of a decent crop growth for food. Minimal Zombies, and an easy place to fortify, and wait out the infestations until the Zeds inevitably rotted.
Time - noonish, I don’t wake up early.

Fullcircle….
At the risk of sounding rude…let me emphasize MY fortified hacienda.
With the survival of my loved ones and myself at stake, the chance for a hidden, or even unsuspected bite causing my midnight tinkle patrol to be interrupted by a brain hungry shuffler completely eliminates my concern for “awkward” feelings.
I’d have to go with “strip down, or keep walking.”
And let me be clear…man, woman, child, and pet simians (may have to shave the latter….maybe even some of the former) are not exempt.
Fullcircle on 24 Oct 2008 at 6:33 pm #
Of course.
I didn’t mean let anyone in without a complete search.
Just, if convenience allows, y’know?

1. AK-47 (magically provided out of thin air) the people assault rifle. Not my preferred choice, but easy to use for public, widespread availability of ammo (internationally speaking) great stopping power.
2. choosing one song seem preposterous to me because if you only have one song to listen to you will eventually go crazy. And I’m one of those people with their entire library of music on them at all times. but if I had to choose, some hardcore would put me in the killing mode.
3. an island.
or more realistically speaking, City hall. access to building blueprints (knowing absolutely all the entrances and exits to a large building like a shopping mall would be invaluable) and its one of the last places anyone would think to congregate.
4. 5 in the morning. So I can make use of the most daylight possible.
