I doubt you can be really preapered without making everyone thinking youre crazy ¨excuse me just a moment, im just gonna go and check the perimiter and load my shotgun¨ XD naah i think that sometimes you just need to relax and enjoy your time with your family without constantly be preapered for a zombie epedemic. That´s my opinion.

I'm pretty safe myself during the winter months, as I live in Canada.
Zombies aren't going to be much of a threat in our blizzards until they thaw out in spring

Some holidays are better for z-day than others. Christmas (X-mas, whatever, most cultures have something roughly equivalent) tends to have rather small groups of people celebrating in the comfort of their homes,
not too bad in terms of initial zed-spread.
On New Years Eve however... Drunken people swaying along the streets, constant loud bangs and glimpses of light from the fireworks to distract you from any firefights not actually involving you, people gathered in large, drunk, noisy groups, partying with open doors, where a guy/girl biting random guys/girls will likely seem funny for the first minute or two... How would you even know there was an attack?
Halloween, in countries where it is celebrated...

This is nightmare fuel, holidays are friggin dangerous.

To be honest the first thing I would do is to curse alot... And I do mean Alot....then I'd most likely get over it and think of this: class 1 and 2 ....I'd most like stay in the house not knowing what's waiting outside....beyond that and I would take my chances on just running....with ANY weapon I find of course. About the ice thing....I would also like to assume you would have SOME protection against the cold while zeds do not.....in the long run it could be used to our advantage in a zombie apocolipse

I really like this site too. It's the most grounded and rational zombie preparedness website. Too many other sites are like "I'm gonna get a Gatling gun and an AA-12 and start mowing the zeds down!!" And then they don't even know where the nearest munitions depot is.
As for the zombie plus blizzard scenario, Brooks recommends getting somewhere the weather is the only factor. Don't try to fight a war on three fronts. If the weather isn't hurting you, it also won't hurt the brigands and other survivors that will attack you out of desperation. And then you've still got the undead on top of all that.
As an Eagle Scout my best advice is simply "Be Prepared." You don't need Mother Nature to be an ally; just be trained and prepared enough that the bitch is no longer an enemy.

As always, this is useful information, the sage advice that has made this my favorite site for information regarding the undead. One area I think needs more attention, however, is information on how to survive during the "double whammy" of the zombie apocalypse and a severe ice storm or other such natural disaster. Zombies would be unaffected by subzero temperatures and falling limbs, but these things can slow down even the most prepared z-survivalist. If you've already covered this topic, then just point me toward the archives and forget I said anything, otherwise, how about it? Snowed in on Chiristmas while zed is on the march?
