take every thing becuze you will most likly find somthing to go with it

While this one would not be that good for the long hual it could serve as a temporary base quite well and the police station is just a stones throw away as is a heavily stocked pawn shop , lots of extra guns there . Maintaining power and water at this building would be diffucult but not impossible . Also with the towns limited population and the buildings high vantage point it would be easy to pick off the zombies in short order and secure the whole town . Plus since it is in the middle of nowhere any zombies would likely get taken out by coyotes and wild dogs or the damn wild hogs , these pigs hit 180 lbs. on average and are mean as hell , long before they could reach the town .

OMG! I almost crapped my pants laughing, but its very true. Prisons are made to keep people in. Unless you have a designated escape route and like 5 alternates, then you’re going to get caught inside and eaten/starve if a horde of zombies surround the place. Thats IF you manage to persuade the cons not to kill you. A small county facility may be your best bet. They have weapons, ammo, and food on hand. Also, small prisoner population.

As far as religious people. The first time I hear crap about “God’s Wrath” and all that crap you see in the movies where a religious nut turns the mob on someone, I’ll shoot them to wound and let them die a slow painful death at the hands of the zombies.

1. Police stations
The first responders to the outbreak will always be the cops and if they think the person is high or just nuts they will likely take them back to the police station . It is very likely that while subdueing the zombie one of the cops will get bitten , so now there is one zombie possibly locked up in the cell of a police station with all the other people that have been arrested or it is in an interrogation room . Also there is the infected cop who could turn at any moment and attack the other police officers . Now the zombie in the cell could potentially infect the other people in the cell creating a small army that could break out and swarm the police station . So going to the police station is a very bad idea .

2. Hospitals
Are you serious , hospitals will be even more dangerous than police stations because there are more people in them . When there is any kind of an outbreak where do people go , the hospital . The hospital is where they would be treating the people injured by the zombies and storing the bodies of the people killed by them . So once people start turning into zombies things will get very bad at that hospital very quickly .

3. Prisons
If you happen to find a prison that is completely abandoned and is fully stocked then good for you . But that is highly unlikely , if the prison is still home to the prisoners , infected or not that is the last place you want to be . Going to a prison full of angry cons to escape the zombies is no better than being rescued from a shark attack by a hungry grizzly bear .

4. Malls & department stores
I always end up laughing at this one . So many people say stuff like
” I’ll go hide in the mall ” well lets go over the problems with that shall we . First of malls and stores all have glass fronts and while some of that glass is double or even triple the thickness of normal store windows it is not shatter proof like they show in the movies . The weight of the zombies pressing against it will break the glass and while some malls and stores have sliding grates behind the glass as an additional security measure they will not last long . Secondly food is a limited commodity in any store , it will run out faster than you can eat it , most of the food in a store has a very limited shelf life . Third there are those that say that they would set up a garden on the roof of the store , apperently they never to took a really good look at those roofs . They are not there to support the weight of a garden they are there to keep the elements out , most of the roofs would buckle under the weight of a garden large enough to feed a group of people . Also it takes several weeks sometimes to grow a garden to the point where it can be harvested for food and it is very likely that the stores food won’t last that long . Four you are not the only person on the planet to have this brilliant idea , there will be a lot of people trying to set up shop in the same store and raid it for supplies and that will draw the attention of the zombies .

5. Military bases
These places will suffer the same fate as the police stations and the hospitals . When the cops get taken out it will be up to the military to take care of the people and when they do this they will begin evacuating people into their base , this will include the people who have been attacked by the zombies and just have not turned yet . While the military could likely deal with the external threat they would not be able to handle the internal threat at the same time . Plus you will have some survivors and soldiers taking supplies and escaping because they realize that the base will fall eventually . And to top it all off military base aren’t as impregnable as many seem to think . I live near a major air base and that place still has a bunch of places where people can get in and out without being detected .

6. Bunkers
Lets be realistic folks yes bunkers are all over the place , but the people and groups that have them will likely not open them up just to let you in and when the crap hits the fan they will be in those bunkers before you ever show up to claim it as your own . So unless you have your own bunker or happen to know of a secret bunker that nobody else knows about you should just forget about it . Hoping that you will find a fully stocked bunker that is not inhabited is wishful thinking .

7 Forests
I honestly can’t rap my head around this one . So many people say that they would go and hide in the forest and that is usually the extent of their survival plan , they must think that trees are some form of zombie kryptonite . Guess what if the zombies run out of people to eat in the city they will eventually spread out and move into the areas where people have gathered and where have so many of you decided to hide at , the forest . Remeber folks a tree is just a tree it is not zombie kryptonite .

8. Basic Info

This will list three basic areas to avoid . I know that there are more that I could list but these are the ones I will list .

Nuclear reactors
After the outbreak you will have at most two weeks until the nuclear reactors have a meltdown . When that happens there will be a massive amount of radiation in the air and the fallout can be spread for a couple hundred miles depending on the the weather . There are something like fifty seven nuclear power plants in the united states and most of those are in the eastern half of the country .

Dams
There are over seventy five thousand dams in the U.S. and you should never set up your base under any of them . Each dam requires constant TLC , these things have millions of tons of water pressing against them at all times , sometimes more , and when they break they can cause massive damage . Some ” EXPERTS ” claim that dams can last for centuries but that is not true for most of the dams out there . If the spillway gets backed up with debris it will stop the excess water from running out and that will allow the water level to rise and put more pressure on the dam and the terrain that it is built into , eventually one of them will give in under the enormous pressure . Most dams build up enough debris that it has to be removed on a regular basis , but if nobody is there to remove it , it will just build up more and more and become a serious problem .

Relegious cults
Unfortunately it is very likely that some of the religious cults out there will survive and they could quickly become a greater threat than the zombies . I’m sure that some of you know what I’m talking about they are the fanatical loonies that believe that their god will kill all the non-believers and leave them to start up a purer human race . If you run into one of these cults they might just shoot you for being a heathen for not believing in the same god as them or they might sacrifice you to the zombies to appease their god . In my area of the country there is a cult that believes that all the people that don’t have the same beliefs as them will be wiped out in a nuclear war and they will be the survivors that inherit the earth . These whack jobs have two favorite hobbies stockpiling guns to use on anyone else that survives the apocalypse and inbreeding .

Example: Getting Weapons, ammo, food, vehicle, CB radio, maps, ect beforehand

and than getting things like green house supplys and more secure transportation
