So many people say that genocide is such a terrible thing and yet they never really do anything to stop it . When you turn on the news at night and you see that the ruler of some third world $!#+ hole is murdering his own people do you pack up your guns , tell your boss you quit and travel half way around the world to stop that crazy bastard . No you say something stupid like I’ll say a prayer for those poor people ( yeah cause thats really gonna help ) or I’ll donate a dollar to the STOP THE WAR FUND ( as if your lone dollar will change anything ) or you go ” oh well , whats on the other channel ” . The simple fact of the matter is that people don’t give a damn about each other , they lack compassion . They care about their own families and neighbors and maybe even their fellow country men but they couldn’t really care less about others . There are some exceptions out there but they are few and far between . To survive the apocalypse people would have to come together to survive . They would need to look out for one another , regardless of whether or not they even liked one another . As the saying goes ” we either stand together or we die alone ” .

People are far to willing to accept things the way they are rather than fight to change things . When they see corruption in politics or corporations they accept it for just being the way things are . Sometimes people will complain on chat rooms or protest with signs but for the most part this does not accomplish much in the modern world . Sometimes it can cause changes in the goverment or companies , but these are usually changes that they were going to make any way . I believe that if you want change to happen you have to make change happen , and that cannot always be done with words or demonstrations , sometimes you need to stand up and fight for what you believe in . But the vast majority of people the world over would never do this because they are far to lazy and complacent , they would rather be lead around like a herd of dumb sheep . By wiping the slate clean and giving humanity a fresh start they could ensure that this doesn’t happen again or at least that it doesn’t happen nearly as often as it does .

People say that Hitler , Stalin , Saddam (etc.) were are all evil people and I happen to agree . However these men did not carry out their acts of genocide all by themselves these evil men had the support of most of their own people . Yet you only hear the leaders being condemned for acts of mass slaughter never the men and women who actually pulled the triggers . Thats because people would rather shift all the blame to the people who gave the orders than the people who obeyed them of their own free will . As a race we rarley want to accept responsibility for our own actions , we always try to justify what we did saying that we had no choice or that it was our leaders fault and never our own . In the outbreak you would have to bear the responsibility of each and every action you take , you can’t point at the leader of the group and say ” he lead us here ” and expect the zombies to eat him instead of you , just because you screwed up and lead your party down the wrong street and didn’t want to accept the blame .

I could go on all day thinking up reasons to justify the release of the zombie virus but the simplest is that we are just =#&%ed up as a species and we need to hit the reset button and hopefully we will do a better job with ourselves and the world a second time around .
