College Condemning Students to Death?
While the University is claiming that the plan was originally meant as a joke could someone have been trying to warn the students of a coming disaster?Last week the University of Florida removed their reaction plan for a zombie outbreak from their website. “The exercise lays out the university’s response to attacks by “flesh-eating, apparently life impaired individuals.”
Though they are claiming that the plan does not belong could it be a cover up? Could the school be trying to hide the fact that those in charge of writing the plans that will be taken during a disaster actually think zombies are a possibility? More importantly, was there anything in the document that would have proven useful toward the survival effort during an outbreak?

It seems that universities are determined to make students helpless victims for all types
of catastrophes. They already outlaw any type of self defense weapon. they will
acknowledge that female students are in danger of on campus rapists by handing out
rape whistles at orientation, yet they will deny said females anything to defend themselves.
Now some university students around the country are petitioning to allow concealed
carry on campus. This would seriously reduce all types of violent crime in the college
environment and be very helpful when the inevitable zombie outbreak hits our halls of
higher learning.

Personally, If I was a woman in college, I’d be carrying a big ass boot knife, a .45, and a serbu super shorty 12 gauge. My wife carrys her cold steel Counter Tac knife everywhere she goes. She works at a school and carrys it there. She also keeps a machete in her car. If I could make her, she’d carry a shotgun too. You can’t be too prepared for violence, but by god you can be under prepared.

See now we as students have a right to ignore what the bastards at what ever university we are attending say and just go with our gut instincts i mean dont get me wrong i am a strong dude and a capable fighter but if i find myself in a bad situation naturaly imma wip out my hunting knife and go to town on the bitch haha jp but yes i will cut a muther up if they try to step to me during my 5th hour art class. Now as for the zombies attacking the place it is total BS that they would take down the protocal i mean its bad enough the place is cluttered together and it is possible that it may very well could start in a chemestry lab i say bring the army just minus the people ill keep the tanks and guns all to myself haha

If you are attacked from behind I’m pretty sure your not gonna get the chance to blow it and even if you do there has to be someone around to hear it and identify that it is infact a whistle being blown by a female in distress. I think I will stick to carrying a knife.
They also need to teach more females common sense..forget your stupid whistle..get off your cell phone, travel in groups,walk in well lit areas,tell people where you are going and when you will arrive and don’t make your self a target by dressing like a tramp. Not saying a girl dressed like a slut deserves it but maybe they need to think about the kind of attention they attact.

Higher learning my lily white ass. The only thing that is getting any higher in college is the frat boys and stoners. The American educational system is so broken that even if the government gave it trillions, Trillions!, it wouldn’t help. College is a tremendous joke when it come to most careers, with the exception of say nursing or doctors, architects ect. , since you’re likely going to learn more about your job on the job than in any school, regardless whos teaching. That’s just a plain fact. Add on that in America you have to take two years of classes that have nothing to do with your major and you begin to understand my disillusion with the system, at least in Europe you have a lesser reliance on core classes and more emphasis on the material that will actual matter in your everyday life.
And MissKitty you are absolutely right. Most colleges will admit that female students are at risk but do little or nothing to help other than hand out a few knickknacks to make them feel safer while they hang what amounts to fresh meat signs around their necks. Hell, some schools if a woman is raped by a fellow student and she reports it to the school the school may take action through academic penalties or by throwing the student out but the crime will not actually go the other student’s record. Figure that out! Hell, several colleges in Georgia, especially the ones associated with the University of Georgia now have a mandatory alcohol educational program that you have to complete before entering classes. Now the program has a heavy emphasis on how date rape happens, even describing the common drugs and in one section telling how one is even made! Now, it would take all of six seconds for some motherfucker to look at that and take the data from a guide on how to prevent date rape to a guide how to date rape. It’s something that really pisses me off. So in short stick to the blade and cut the fuckers dick off if given the chance.
At any rate, schools seem to becoming more and more a death trap. In high school, the SRO I had was there because the local police department didn’t trust him on the street, hell for that matter for a long while he wasn’t even allowed to have live ammo. He even stated one day that even hoped someone would try to fight him so he could shoot them. The idiot had all the situational awareness of an ant, I saw drug deals go down literally behind his back on several occasions. Since then, he has been reassigned to the local grade school, God help the little ones.

When I was in college, one of the student worker positions they had was as an on-call escort for female students walking across campus- but it was reserved for athletes and only available during night classes. They also had these phones around campus with blue lights on them- once you lifted the reciever it placed a call to campus police…of course, if you’re being asaulted, raped, or eaten by zombies, the phone may not do much good and the quarterback walking you back to the room may actually BE the rapist… by the way, Kain, I totally agree with the class requirements…a lot of college grads apply where I work, but they have no skill in the field they’re applying for! They spend tens of thousands of dollars to learn French and join Greek clubs when an aprenticeship or internship is what they really needed.

Angry, that explains your statement “You can’t be too prepared for violence, but by god you can be under prepared.” Very well said, the most sensible thing I have heard in a long time.
I left school at 14 because my parents were dirt poor and I had to help support them and myself,so I educated myself. I have written magazine articles that have been published in just about every english speaking country in the world. I own 2 business. Most colleges and universities churn out clones of the teachers who can memorize things but not how to think for themselves.Real life experience is the real teacher.

Hows this for resourceful and adaptable?
Things I have done for a profession in my life:
Carpenter
Concrete pouring and finishing
Brick layer
Plumbing assistant
Custom electronics assembly and repair
Industrial Maintenance helper
Farming (both plant and animal)
Forklift Driver
Other stuff:
I custom make knives
I hand make chainmail
I know how to use just about every kind of hand tool
I can weld fairly well
I am well versed in classic literature
I do custom leather work for friends and myself
I have owned so many military and civilian weapons in my day I’m able to use just about anything with lethal efficiency. And by that I mean I am accurate to at least 300 meters.
I’m pretty decent at archery
I took years of martial arts and melee combat classes
I spent years in the scouts learning lots of things, including land survival, how to make a fire with a stick, a rock, and a shoe string, sun navigation, ect.
Hell, I can even weave a basket
There’s not much that I can’t do or figure out how to do in short order.
Kinda felt like I was called out again, so I put up a brief list of things I have done/can do.

G-UMan… I see where your going with that…having all the toys and tricks are useless if you don’t know what to do with them…Material things are great for safety (knifes,guns) but if you don’t know how to use them properly they could get you killed just as easily. Thats why any good arms man will tell you, practice,practice,practice and respect and maintain your equipment.

yikes hate to run into you in a dark alley haha just kiddin man your cool man i mean i wish i could do atleast 30% of that crap the only good thing i got on my side is luck haha and that aint much other then that standard brawling skills knife handling rife shooting a little metal work and plasma cuttin being able to treat minor wounds and being one hell of a pack horse i dont have to many valuable skills

I’ve got:
2 years Bushi Kai Karate
2 years Kung Fu
2 years Tae Kwon Do
2.5 years of ARMA in which I learned German long sword, knife fighting, and grappling. I was on equal footing with the teacher when I left.
I train occasionally with my wife in knife fighting, and hand to hand killing techniques. I don’t try to make an art out of it, I just strive for brutal efficiency and suprise tactics.

youtube is great for learning skills
it took me a month to master thriwing knives. it taught me the basics and then i just took from there and now i can get any kitchen knife to stick reel deep. and anywho back on subject i could imagine that random kids bringing weopons to every class, baracading dorms ect. in my opinion one kid probably took it to far(not that you can) yea and wtf

Well, we wear protective gear, so they know its just practice. But theyve called the police on me before when I was skinning rabbits. They told them I was skinning cats! That was a fun day.

ok so guess what i got today?! yup you guessed it! a free crate of rubbing alcohol XD. my friends dad has a pharmacy and he had to close up shop due to the current state of the economy or something along those lines. so we have decided to make a home-made first aid kit!!! i’ve got like 5 kits already XD go me!

I’ve got much the same skill set as Angryvikingman. Not so much of the martial arts and more electronics than mechanical systems. It’s a good set of abilities, especially the outdoors survival stuff.
As for college, yeah, I learned more about my job after I started working than I learned in college. “Need any FPGAs programmed with custom crypto demux? No? But you’re paying $23 an hour to reconfigure IT for the new security mandates. I’m your man!”

see im good with electronics and basic hotwiring in some older cars like i said im a brawler and very strong willed and have alot of determination a very fast learner if i do say so myself i dont want to sound vain or nothing haha good persausive skill so if any band of road warrors wants to hassle my group i can take them out of it if not i will have to find angry and go APE SHIT on their asses haha im not profficient in anyone skill but im good in a broad range of skills
