live in florida… i think im screwed lots of torrists and old pple. i really dont want to run from a hoard disney characters. most of the woods have disapeared since i grew up. to many pple. lots of guns. i’m heading for the everglades. mmmm… gator.

I think some of the nations will easily survive a zombie outbreak . In australia there is supposed to be a max population of about 18 million and that country is about the size of the U.S. . There are roughly 300 million people in the U.S. but there are a crap load of guns all over the place , so I believe that a large part of the population could survive . In china and india there are over a billion people in each country , that would likely allow the zombie horde to simply over run any defenses once they reached a certain level of infected . That would probably allow the zombie hoard to over run most of asia , the middle east and europe .

I can guarantee that Zombies would not bother where I am. Population density of 1.7 people per kilometre for a thousand kilometres means that zombies would have to randomly stumble a loooooooooong way to infect another person. Desert would dry out their fluids and make them brittle and immobile even if they didn’t rot on the bone (never seen anyone write about zombies devolving to walking skeletons – they still need muscles). No electrical grid to link to major population centres (self contained with local supplies of gas), a thousand kilometres of desert in one direction and a thousand kilometres and a sea from any possible source of contagion.

Of course, we would all starve a horrible death as we have no agriculture to speak of.

Personally, I’d ditch the guns (use them while I could but let’s not be stupid about it) and use crossbows and slingshots (they’ll just keep getting up again until you’ve cracked that skull).

Become familiar with living and surviving in the deep woods. Thats my suggestion. u can go underground, up in the trees, and if you are naturally alert and on your toes.. will know when you have incoming. ears and eyes open. mouth shut. When it comes down to it.. don’t rely on anyone but your damn self and your insticts. If you are a short bus window licker.. I will be happy to put you out of your misery. You are a liability.

There is nothing wrong with guns, like there is nothing wrong with sharp pencils at school where this one kid stabbed another student and teacher with. It’s the person with the weapon, not the weapon itself.

i would probably stay right where i am or head farther north in to canada. even though i live in the third largest city in north dakota (still not saying much though) with something like 60,000 people i think we could do pretty good, especially in winter, where on average its like around zero which actually isnt all that bad i would walk to school in pants,sweatshirt, and a pair of gloves and be just fine and happy. unless there is windchill, which depending on the speed and current temperature can make it feel 20 degrees colder than it actually is. and in the spring the usual flooding could wash any zombies away without people around to stop it, if there was enough snow.but there always is. anyway i would rather prefer instead of guns, use melee weapons such as swords, knives, axes, baseball bats and maybe unconventional weapons in emergencys. sure keep like a pistol with you though. or use a bow and arrow not that hard to fire and can be reloaded relatively quickly if your skilled at it. but you have to be pretty good with it to hit a zombie in the head (which might not even go through enough, so maybe the eye or the spine) but if you use melle weaponsonly take on like one or 2 zombies at a time and have backup, atleast they dont need ammo.

Screw this… Texas. Go there. We have our own independent energy grid, more guns than people, and even most city boys know how to at least use one to some degree of shittiness. Btw when food starts to get scarce… we have nearly more cows than people too. Have fun dying ya’ll. :)

This is an excellent thread. The right to bear arms will protect the U.S. against the zombies, but who’s gonna protect us from the other folk bearing arms who want our arms? And water, and food…. Right to Bear arms is a double-edged sword, amigos….

Well I kinda disagree with Ronin that the US won’t be a major player in the future. Don’t count us out for the count just yet. Yeah recent trends have been abismal for our country, but there are a lot of looming problems on the horizons that many EU countries are facing, and Asia has scary prospects also. Freedom, economic prosperity and global influences are things that have to groomed constantly and not taken for granted. The world will always have crisis’s to deal with. Not everyone of them means the end of the world. In fact, so far, none of them has.
