well in an apocalypse (which is unlikely) i think your best bet would be to hunker down in a fortified position of you choice with your survival squad. which usually has you family in it. in an out break, which is much more likely, then your best bet would be to stay on the move, avoid highways and free ways . stick to offroading or biking if you can.and also remember if the is an outbreak or an apocalypse, other humans may be your biggest threat. this site and a few books have some great tips. dont expect anything(slow stupid zombies, for example) and start preparing now, not when half of your neighborhood is trying to eat you. oh and yes go for headshots.
if anyone has anything to add, i would appreciate it.

Valentine’s Day was engineered by inter-governmental forces as a ‘red-herring’ in order to fool the masses. They already are aware of the Zombie Invasion and today, February 14th has only served as a distraction. We have lost yet another day. I too am concerned. No one seems to understand how important it is to be prepared in the event of an attack. Some people don’t even believe in zombies!!! Are they stupid?!!! Seriously – I am so glad there are like-minded fellows out there who are going to be all the more prepared for when the invasion happens. Brothers, join with me! I believe it is imperative to band together if we are to have any chance of survival. This is not like a simple ‘kill a vampire’ (or werewolf) scenario. I mean seriously…We are talking about Zombies…

Im kinda freaking out.. Just opened my eyes to all of this. What should you do, in a summary, if there is an apocalypse?
Ive heard that they can only ‘live’ for 2hours, but im not sure i believe it, Im thinking more along the lines of decapitating their head?
I’d rather not bring it up with my parents/family they already think im wierd but if there is a slight hint of it happening soon then i wish to be prepared especially having 3 younger brothers. Thanks

@3-15 INF: And although that is a good book, some of the information in there is false and illogical. For the hundredth time, (I’ve had to say this to all of my friends) the main purpose of the book is to get people thinking about the apocalypse. Also, the book most likely wouldn’t know that, because there isn’t quite an abundance of zombies and zombie information yet. Although that is a very plausible possibility, so I wouldn’t let any of those possibilities go. Still a good proposal!

In max brooks’ Zombie Survival Guide, which this site is leaning towards, bacteria, maggots and insects won’t touch a zombie. The book states that cold wheather would freeze them solid, but they would come back when thawed out.
