I suggest you all bring a LOT of extra targets. I will be bringing several different types. Regular pistol and rifle targets, 5 spot, silohuette, and a bunch of the little sticky ones that you can see when you shoot them. I usually go through ten targets or more in an hour or so at the range. For the long distance shooters, I’d suggest the ones that show the yellow/orange paint when you hit them. I’ll have a spotting scope, but it aint a high dollar one if you follow me. The ammo requirements are for guns that will be on hand for others to use. I have a Ruger 10/22, Ar-15 with 22lr conversion, a gsg-5, and a pair of walther p22 pistols. These are small caliber to teach people to shoot effectively and with very little cost. Also on hand will be 2 12 gauge shotguns. One is a hunting type, and one is a tactical type. If you own your own guns and want to bring them, thats fine. Be SURE to bring enough ammo. (500+ rounds) Make sure you bring enough food and water. If you get there on friday, the range(s) will be open for practice, and you can pretty much do your own thing until the event begins at noon on saturday. The event will end at 4p.m. on sunday to allow everyone to get their stuff up and their campsite cleaned and be on the road long before dark. If you have any questions, post them on here and either I or Kain will answer them to the best of our ability.

Sounds like a fun weekend. It would be cool to see some people demonstrate their skills. Too bad I’m no where near you.
Beth on 28 Jan 2010 at 9:50 am #
@Angryvikingman: What is the fee? Will there be edged weapons training? And, if so, which ones? Will there be archery? Will there be other kinds of survivalist training besides living with my own odors?
@McLuvin: Don’t be so insecure! You’re not supposed to know everything before you get there!
Angryvikingman on 28 Jan 2010 at 10:55 am #
Due to the fact that I have no idea of everyones current fitness levels, or knowledge, I had to be rather limited in scope as to what I could teach. The basic hand to hand combat will cover some knife training and disarming. (Knives include everything up to a machete. If someone wishes to learn two handed longsword, I may be able to make time for limited demonstration and tutoring.) I did not include archery, but if people want to bring bows, then they’re more than welcome, and I’m sure we can find some room for them to practice. As I said, bring anything you want to learn how to use, and we’ll try to fit it in somehow. The actual location is 35 acres, so theres going to be plenty of room. We are going to limit the number of participants to 30 max, and there is not going to be a fee to attend. Just bring the requested items. I suggest people that cant live without air conditioning or TV for 2 days dont attend, as I can’t stand whining, and the injury waiver will indemnify me from any bodily harm you may receive as a result of what goes on there. The cirriculum I had in mind can be altered if everyone who attends wishes to learn a specific skill that I or someone else there can teach.

Beth, I appreciate the pep talk, but I was referring to the actual distance between us. I live very far away from there.

id love to go but i live like… a million miles away lol…….. plus i dont
think the airport staff would let me take my shotgun along for the ride.
Angryvikingman on 28 Jan 2010 at 1:15 pm #
All you need to fly with a gun is a case with a lock and leave it unloaded. Notify the airport personnel when you arrive and they’ll take care of it. Huntsville airport is about 45 minutes from the site. If anyone wants to fly in, I’m sure that we can make arrangements to pick them up. Southwest airlines usually has really cheap summer rates that start around $99. My buddy used to fly to chicago and back for less than $200. Just call and make sure you know the correct protocol to follow before you show up at the airport with a gun.

Well I’m in, though Angryvikingman already knows that. 3ID too, no the man isn’t dead just having computer troubles, we’re relatively close though so that does help matters a little. That said 3ID is already buying ammo for the event, hell so am I so I really shouldn’t be bitching. I suppose i should say see whoever shows there.
Also, I want copies of the picture!

Jay, I live in England. It’s not that far, but I owe a ton of money in student loans and I only have a weekend/evening job, so I can’t afford the flights right now. Plus I’m really really busy at the moment with uni, and I’m doing a ton of volunteer work (an imperial ton, not a metric tonne. It’s slightly bigger) and somehow between all that I have to find time to see my girlfriend, so it’s not really feasible right now.
It’s a fantastic idea though, so have fun everyone who’s going. I hope you’ll do it again sometime when I can go :D
A.S.U. on 29 Jan 2010 at 11:00 pm #
Agh, like Adam, I have a busy life and can’t afford (Not money wise, but I’m pretty shit poor as well.) to drive all the way to Alabama! You should have one in New Jersey! I’ve got a whole mob of zombie enthusiasts ready for something like this! ^^
McLuvin on 29 Jan 2010 at 11:54 pm #
It looks like we are all saying the same thing. It is too expensive to go across
the country to do a little shooting. It is definitely a good idea but especially
with the shitty economy it is not feasible to travel like that to meet some people
and shoot some stuff.
Kain - ZAC Weapon Consultant on 30 Jan 2010 at 2:16 am #
I don’t think Jersey authorities would look kindly on anyone doing a zombie training camp. I’m from the southern half of the state and they are almost as bad as Cali when it come to guns. Hell, there is, or at least was, a law on the books saying that in essence you could not transport a gun in a vehicle, granted it was suppose to be used as a way to gain access and search mob cars but that is not what is has always been used for. That and the beta mag I have for my AR15 I believe is still illegal in the state. Great food, but I doubt I’d ever move back there.
Though, it is kinda sad that most of our loyal members are from way the hell out of country. Who was it who said that only American revel in mindless violence?

Hi everybody long time lurker first time poster.
This sounds like a blast, but I will still be in carjackastan at that time. I always wanted to get into 3 gun anyway. Maybe next year.
Angryvikingman on 30 Jan 2010 at 3:33 pm #
Well, as I said before, even if there aren’t a lot of people from the site coming, I have quite the group of people interested in attending purely for the tactical training aspect. The “basic” hand to hand combat training that I will be doing is designed to make enemies combat ineffective as quicly as possible by disabling or killing them. A stand up fist fight takes too long and the other bad guys dont just stand around to wait their turn. I’m going to teach how to exploit the unfair advantage, and how to overcome it if someone tries to use it on you. It will also include knife and combination weapons techniques for maximum effectiveness. As for the firearms portion, I’m going to teach how to engage multiple targets from different angles with instinctive shooting techniques, and it will also require you to reload as quickly as possible to complete the series of targets. While the site may be wholly dedicated to zombies, what I’m going to teach will be effective against both the undead and the living.
KillerB on 30 Jan 2010 at 4:52 pm #
@ Angryvikingman. I know that flying with guns is easy enough. I have a few questions though. Flying with 500+ rounds of ammunition is another deal all together. In the past when I have taken courses at Gunsite or Thunder Ranch I have always had my ammunition sent directly to them in advance of the training event. Would this be a possiblity. I am thinking about making the migration to Alabama to attend this event. Sounds fun. I will know in a few weeks if it will be a possiblity. But assuming that I can attend this event there are many things that I can teach others. Having attended many tactical carbine courses and having actual combat experiance I do have some valuable knowledge to spread around. If i do attend I will only be bringing 3 weapons ( rifle, shotty and my trusty Glock 19). Great Idea. Maby if it is a success then it might be possible to start Chapters in other states so that training days like this do not have to happen in only on place in the nation once a year. If there are any Oklahoma area people out there then I may be able to host something similar to what Angryvikingman is doing. LOVE THIS IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHEERS
Angryvikingman on 30 Jan 2010 at 6:23 pm #
I guess you could always send it to my house and I can bring it to you. I have no problems with anyone doing this as long as you get it to my house at least two weeks before the event so I can have everything prepped and ready to go when I leave for the location. I’m going to be down there the entire week beforehand making preparations for everyone’s arrival. ( Spending a LOT of time mowing grass)
I would LOVE for people with tactical and combat experience to come to the event. This is to be a learning even for everyone, including myself.

Hey we’ve been in Haiti for the last two weeks and I haven’t heard anyone on this site mention it. Anyone wonder if they have us here with live ammo to make sure the original home of zombies doesn’t get overun with the walking dead?
Kain - ZAC Weapon Consultant on 31 Jan 2010 at 2:56 pm #
Lol, Ronin that’s a real good one, but I though kangaroos were an endangered species? Or was that some kind of wallabies? I don’t know, just thinking aloud.
3-15 INF we’re not worried about you, the worst case is you run into the voodoo zeds and they die just like an average person, with less survival instinct, kinda like a suicide bomber walking across an open field. “Keft, keft” bang bang BOOM!!!!(watch pink mist drift in the wind, laugh manically and argue over who got the kill) And I wouldn’t be surprised if you guys were carrying live ammo, though with the way the ROEs seem to run I wouldn’t hesitate to believe that you can’t have one in the chamber. Probably have to go all the way to the UN to get permission to fire, then get denied six weeks later.

Angryvikingman on 02 Feb 2010 at 1:19 am #
@ThatScoutKid
I don’t know… I’ll really have to think about that. I’d love to tell you that you can come because I think that everyone should get a shot at going, but the legality of it is questionable, even with a parent attending. I know that you are a regular poster here on the site, and have contributed to many of the discussions. I’ll discuss the idea with the other organizers, and see what they think.
As for the shirts, I’m looking into a few places to make them. I want to get you guys the best price, and best quality. If I do make them, they’d only be available for the limited amount of time, as stated above.

kurarain on 04 Feb 2010 at 6:43 pm #

Kain - ZAC Weapon Consultant on 04 Feb 2010 at 9:54 pm #
Well, hopefully 3ID isn’t the only one with military experience. With luck, a mutual friend of me and 3ID, actually my long time neighbor, and his battle buddy may be able to come, between the two of them they have something like fifty years of military and law enforcement experience. Translation, if you have an active warrant out, don’t show. But, it does suck that so few of the members of the website will be able to make it, I was hoping to meet more of you nutcases.
Also, since if it hasn’t come up it will, you can come if you don’t own a gun. Just let it be known well before hand, let me or Angryvikingman know. God knows that I’ll be dragging more than a handgun and a rifle, more likely something close to a dozen or more. Generally in that situation it’s bring your own ammo, or have someone pick it up for you and pay them back I guess. I would rather you brought your own though, I don’t want to feel like I’m ripping someone off. Also you are also going to learn to clean the bastard too, you’re not my girlfriend, you’re going to clean the fucker.
Also, just a thought, what about putting a date on the t-shirt, you know like Z.A.C. T.A.C.T. 2010. So you know who was here when we started this goatrope.

Yeah, just bring the ammo requested in the article. I have plenty of guns to go around. Its looking like I’m going to have to rent a cargo van to drag all of my crap to this shindig. I’m working on a variant with an M-4 for the shirt.
Kain - ZAC Weapon Consultant on 05 Feb 2010 at 1:09 pm #
How much do you plan on dragging down…. Never mind.
And has the pressure for an M4 shirt been that bad? Lol, lets face the fact that most of us own ARs and like ARs more than the AK.
I should be bring, long gun wise, my AR-15, a 10/22, a .22lr lever action, likely my .308 bolt gun, and a few odds and ends shotguns, break actions and autos mainly for familiarization purposes. Also a number of pistols.
The shindig, as Angryvikingman put it, should be fun and a great place to be during an outbreak.

Well, I’m bringing target stands, my guns, possibly other peoples guns, and as much as I brag about being able to rough it with the best of them, I’m bringing my big tent , big cooler, and queen size air mattress since I’ll be there the whole week doing prep for yall’s arrival. I’m not going to rough it too much. Still debating on whether to bring my wife or not… she’s a good shot, but she doesn’t like camping that much. I say this now, its going to be hotter than hell in Alabama in June, so be prepared. As for the property, there are 2 ponds, a creek, lots of woods, and lots of open area for shooting. Wild life in the area includes deer, turkey, armadillos, and rabbits. If you all happen to see me gutting a rabbit when you wake up, keep the vomiting to a minimum. I know some of the people who are coming are city folk, and I’ll try not to hold that against you. The camp area that I am planning on using is sheltered from the sun, and should be large enough to let everyone have a decent amount of space around their tents. I want to keep fires to a minimum if you need to cook, there will be a main fire pit for that. I will have some wood cut up for us to use since I may have to clear quite a bit of area, and that will result in a lot of firewood. I seriously want everyone to bring plenty of water/drinks. You’re going to be sweating your ass off. If you happen to run out of food, drinks, or ice, there’s a small grocery store about 10-15 minutes away. I’m hoping to bring my friend who has: FN-PS90, 2 JLD PTR .308(HK clones), 3 Saiga 12 shotguns, FN FAL para congo, HK 11, Sig 556 swat, and lots of hand guns. He may not let anyone but me shoot a few of the guns, but I’m sure he’ll be generous with the Saigas. OH, and if anyone has serious photoshop skills, then I can forward you some material and we can see what you can do about the M4 shirt variant.
BRING ALL OF THE STUFF FROM THE LIST IN THE ARTICLE.
Nothing will be provided except a camp area, latrine, some training equipment, and target stands. I will let people use my guns if they dont have their own, and I expect the same from most everyone. Although, you may have to clean them as Kain said. LOL!

A.S.U on 07 Feb 2010 at 10:17 am #
@ Kain, Yeah tell me about it! The cops here are ridiculously uptight for no good reason. Well I suppose there is, its just unclear to me. I can understand Paterson cops (Paterson is our ‘ghettos’) but places where I live that are rural makes no sense. Besides the immense amount of drunk rednecks and pothead highschoolers, (well not just highschoolers)… XD Well, sorry for derailing the topic there, I shouldn’t flaunt the high amount of drugs here. But, even though I can’t go, some of the A.S.U. members might be attending! Which is good because some of our members are eh when it comes to combat. lol, I bet it’s gonna be a blast, wish I could come! Have fun everyone!
Angryvikingman on 07 Feb 2010 at 2:23 pm #
Lol, I doubt he’d bring it. Its never been fired, and he says he wont until he can get a used barrel. It has the quick change barrel. He has a problem with actually shooting some of his guns. He sold me my first assault rifle, an FN-FAL, he’d had it for years and it was unfired. I had to take it to the range for a proper break in. That HK 11 was a 21 that was converted by Vollmer. Its freaking sweet! Has the 1200 meter sight, foregrip, and bipod. Its set up like the German special forces HK 11 sniper configuration.

Assuming we have adequate interest and I am able to use the land again next year, sure, I’d host it again. Maybe by next year we can get some buzz on the web and maybe get on G4 and drum up some cash for a sponsored camp the next time around. I’m hoping that video and pictures we get and post on youtube will possibly go viral and lead to some real exposure for the website and the camp. It’d be freaking awesome if I could train Anti-zombie commandos all year long for a job. As I see it, everyone needs to be trained in combat. Why the military here hasnt instituted mandatory 2 year service is beyond me. Lots of other countries do it.

Just a question…wouldn’t you have had to…have…been…a “zombie-commando” before you could train zombie-commandos?
I do look forward to seeing this camp on G4 or maybe CNN when it gets recognized…by the local ATF or FBI….Ruby Ridge part deux anyone? Lesser things have garnered greater scrutiny.
Angryvikingman on 11 Feb 2010 at 2:30 pm #
Its not as though we’re doing anything illegal. I did say Anti-Zombie Commandos, didn’t I? Seeing how I could call myself a musician if I was farting on a snare drum, I can call myself an Anti-Zombie Commando with little to no real experience in the field. (As zombies do not yet exsist, but I do have paramilitary training) As for the authorities, let them come if they want, they’re more than welcome. And you Docwade, you’re invited too.

Viking, I gotta ask. What is your “para-military” training?
Angryvikingman on 12 Feb 2010 at 12:15 am #
Boyscouts- 5 years
Airborne Assault Course @ Fort Campbell
Trained with current and ex-military in weapons drills and tactics.
Trained from various military text books in hand to hand combat, survival, and special operations
2 years Bushi Kai Karate
2 years Kung Fu
2+ years Tae Kwon Do
Lots of sword and knife fighting classes.
I was looking into going to the blackwater camp sometime soon, when funds allow. Just bought a Walther PK380, so gonna have to wait a bit. Now, does that qualify as paramilitary in your book? By no means am I saying that I’m an expert in any of this stuff, but I do have quite a lot of experience.
@Docwade
It’d be great if you could come out and share some of your experience with us at the camp.
specially equipped Guardsman on 12 Feb 2010 at 2:52 am #
I just had an idea. If the “Man” does show up. since they won’t have anything to do anyway you should try and get them to work as range safety. That’s our tax dollars there wasting by being there after all, might as well get our moneys worth.
3-15 INF on 12 Feb 2010 at 9:59 am #
i checked out that walther pk380 and it just seemed like an underpowered p99- do you like it? I have a keltech since its more of the size i need for a small ccw or backup
Shaprshooter on 12 Feb 2010 at 1:16 pm #
I should think that authorities would be greatly welcomed!! They have great training, I mean come on how oculd would it be to have an ex-SWAT team member come to this thing? You could probably ask him to teach team exercises and porper search and destroy. Get a vertran marine to come and do conditioning exercises. Get navy to come teach water combat. The list goes on and on!
Angryvikingman on 12 Feb 2010 at 2:52 pm #
Just about to go to the range and test it out. I’ll file a range report when I get back. LOL! .380 isnt underpowered if you get th eright defensive ammo. cor-bon makes some stuff thats just as powerful as 9mm just about 20 grains lighter.
Angryvikingman on 12 Feb 2010 at 6:42 pm #
Wow, that PK380 shoots great! At 10 yards I put the full mag into the head with a 4 inch group. (4 inch because of one I pulled a little)
http://www.crackhedz.com/zombies/pk380_1.jpg
Did about the same at 25 yards put 3 in the 10 ring, the rest were in the 9. (looks like one in the 8 but I cant tell and I didnt save the target)
http://www.crackhedz.com/zombies/pk380_2.jpg
I took my AR-15, 380, p22x2, and my shotgun today. They gave me a month free at the range when I bought that pistol, so I’m putting it to use. I did some mag dumps and changes to see if I could pound a target, reload and eat the center out of the target.
With 4 mags I ran 100 rounds at 25 yards as fast as I could, just dropping, and slamming in a new mag. Granted, this is the first time I shot with my new aimpoint, and it wasnt sighted in yet.(I left the adjustment wrench at home.) It was printing high and I had to compensate a little. So it isnt perfect.
http://www.crackhedz.com/zombies/AR-15_100.jpg
Then I ran 50 rounds through my P22 at 10 yards as fast as I could go. Sadly one did make it outside the head area, but still not bad.
http://www.crackhedz.com/zombies/p22_50.jpg
Didnt take any pics of my shotgun targets, thats kinda dumb. Its a shotgun, it goes everywhere on purpose. Ran 48 rounds through it. Man I love that thing.
Like I said, by no means am I a pro, but I can shoot pretty well. I think that I could help people who are worse than me get better.
specially equipped Guardsman on 13 Feb 2010 at 5:34 am #
How about some pics OF the shotgun. what are shooting?
Angryvikingman on 13 Feb 2010 at 5:52 am #
Mossberg 500 8 shot security model.
http://www.crackhedz.com/zombies/M_500.jpg
Shoots fast and accurate. I never could understand why people would pay so much for other modesl when something cheaper is just as good or better. Although, I’m contemplating taking the barrel shroud/heat shield off of it. It tends to slide during rapid fire, and tightening the bolts holding it on doesnt really help. BTW, if you like to carry a shotgun like I do, then get the Modgear shotgun scabbard from cheaperthandirt.com. Its well worth the money.
ThatScoutKid on 16 Feb 2010 at 4:23 pm #
tight shotty viking. lol mines like the little brother of that. no collapsing stock or heat shield. but i love it all the same. with the factory stock i cant feel the recoil until about a half hour of shooting. i think its a 5 shot(im at my sisters dorm so i cant go look). its still an amazing gun and i would recomend it to anyone who dosnt have one

Kain - ZAC Weapon Consultant on 17 Feb 2010 at 8:57 pm #
3ID’s wants a smaller gun, is what he’s trying to say. The one he has is equipped with a 22 inch barrel, and is damn near as long as some of my hunting guns. What he really wants is one of those 590s with a 14inch barrel which he can drop in his pants and have no one know he has it.
Though chances are he going to keep it and buy an M1A and go with that.

I cant see spending $3600 on a hopped up AR platform, aside from that I’d love to have one myself.
Ok, FINALLY got my vacation approved for the week of the event. I lined up some equipment to bush hog all of the areas that we’re going to be using for ranges and other training areas. I’ve even made progress on building the target stands, and knock down targets.
I’m taking my concealed carry class on march 7th, and taking a carbine class between now and the event to share some of that with you all. Luckily I’ve stumbled upon a group of local S.W.A.T. officers that will actually teach civilians, and at a relativly cheap price. ($250)
Evidently theres a really nice shooting facility at the local Air Guard base and its open to the public. Who knew? Anyway, its looking to be a pretty good weekend for all in attendance, and I hope that may of you can come. Only 4 more months until the event!

I have a 590A1 with a 20 inch barrel. I find it just a little long, or my arms are a little short. I would love one with the 18.5 in barrel, collapsible stock, bayonet lug, ghost ring sights, and a breacher barrel. except they don’t seem to make one like that.

3ID I would recommend some serious boating experiance. If you get a boat that has sails and a gas opperated engine you could make it there in maybe a couple months? Half a year at max, you just got to make sure you keep your direction straight and have PLENTY of supplies. And depending on where you live, Hawaii might be a better option.

possibly a shower
storage for food
Con’s:

Gas guzzler
Very noticable

i would find some help to sail to Australia i dont think i could do it alone i would probably go crazy RV there also big remember highways and busy roads are going to packed with cars that poeple left or died in i was thinking more of a train they go allover the US and every army base has a railroad leading in and out also there isn’t much that will stop a train unles zombies find a way to drive a tank but if there is a hord of them look yp some of the trains used in Alaska for removing snow off of tracks they look like a very big lawnmoer with thick blades that would be a great zombie vehical.

hell, yah i am intersted. would love to do some teaching and break the rust off of some of the old skills. camping sounds good too. any caliber limit, or alcohol regs? beth will you train me please? marc
Angryvikingman on 14 Mar 2010 at 8:20 am #
There is no caliber limit. If you have enough ammo to complete the shooting portions of the training, then you can bring whatever kinds of guns you want. Thats why I suggested the 22lr. because its a common caliber, and cheap. As for booze at the campout: you can have beer or liqour, and it will only be allowed after training is completed for the day, BUT if you get drunk and do anything unsafe, then you will be either: Restrained and confined to your tent, or made to leave. I personaly like to drink, but I will most likely abstain for the event to ensure everyone’s safety.
The address will be made publicly available via this website one month before the event so people can plan their trip. I will have enough of the injury waivers on hand to fullfill the required quota of 30 participants. I will compare your ID to the addresses given on the forms you will be required to fill out, so if you need to change the address on your ID I suggest you get it done before the event. None of the event sponsors, promoters, or instructors will be liable for any injury, whether self inflicted or inflicted by others.
As I said before, you are welcome to come on the morning of the 18th, set up camp, and use the range facilities. The actual event will not begin until noon on Saturday the 19th.
All of the training portions will move quickly from lecture, to demonstration, to skills practice.
I suggest everyone bring hot weather gear, and rain gear. (for god’s sake, bring lots of sunscreen and insect repellant) The weather will most likely be sunny, but we’re going to practice and shoot RAIN OR SHINE. So bring extra clothes, because I can guarantee you’re going to get very, very dirty. Depending on the flow of the creek on the property at the time of the event, you can bathe at the waterfall. IF any women are present, then guards will be posted to secure the area for their use should they wish it.

I hope yall have a great turnout this round… would love to see it as a re-occuring event. You folks are very informative on a very serious issue that the majority of people in our society don’t want to acknowledge, Mostly due to a lack of belief or they’re too damn preoccupied with their current hectic life. I don’t operate with any group, but am well aware of the pending doom and quite prepared for survival. I come from the woods and will return there when the shit hits the fan. Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois. 28 yrs of paramilitary/militia/ C.Q.C. training as well as the natural gift of being a Scorpion, I am quite interested in the ZAC movement. I’ll be watching. Oh… and never under-estimate any opponent. The dead or otherwise. ;)

I would love to go. Too bad I live 2000 miles away. I’ll make it someday, hopefully before the apocalypse.
Angryvikingman on 28 Apr 2010 at 1:26 am #
Here is the pending itenerary:
Pre Noon:
Hopefully everyone gets there by noon for registration and setting up their tents and stuff.
12:00pm-12:30pm Orientation and Introductions:
We cover what we want to accomplish at the event, basic safety, range commands, and how unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. (Muzzle discipline, and basically being a dick)
12:30pm-1:30pm Know your weapon:
We make sure everyone knows how their guns work, and how the safety features of each gun works, then off to the range. One instructor will take half pistol, and the other half will go with another instructor for rifle.
1:30pm-2:30pm Switch and repeat classes if necessary
2:30pm-3pm Water breaks and rest.
3pm-3:30pm Basic shotgun (sighting and patterning)
Shotgun is damn near self explanatory, and should only take 30 minutes for noobs to figure out. Also, We’ll let people shoot each kind of shotgun ammo: Game load, buckshot, and slugs. Just put one of each in the gun and let them cycle through to feel the difference in the recoil.
3:30pm-4:30pm Stress shooting (applies towards advanced marksmanship)
This is going to be kind of a run and gun so that people realize that when your heart is pounding and your adrenaline is up, then you’re not as good a shot as when you’re standing still and relaxing at the range. Instructors will demonstrate running 50 yards, loading, cycling, and firing the weapons on the move, then let some of the others do it. I’m going to bring a mess of targets for people, but also a huge ass roll of masking tape to conserve them as much as possible. If people want to keep their targets, then they can, but if not, we tape and reshoot. We’ll line up 5 targets, and have them do a course of fire on each with all 3 types of weapons. (pistol, rifle, shotgun) and I was thinking of getting a mess of those 4oz. walmart brand cokes for the shotgun targets. Its more fun when you see them explode. speaking of explosions, I was thinking of getting some tannerite. Mua ha aha haha!
4:30pm-5pm Rest and water.
5pm-5:30pm Hand to hand combat demo and technique demo.
Kain and I will do some pre-arranged hand to hand, showing locks, grips, throws, ect for unarmed defense. Maybe work in some knife play and show vital areas for quick takedown and disabling. Emphasis on footwork and evasion. Good footwork is the best foundation for a good hand to hand fighter.
5:30pm-6:30pm Practice makes perfect
Have everyone practice with a partner, trying not to hurt them, using 1/2 or 1/4 speed. Then we show them some more advanced stuff, like combos, vital area attack combos, ect.
6:30pm-7:30pm Free time on range while staff cooks dinner.
I’m going to make and freeze some hamburgers before everyone arrives. I have a secret recipe for fantastic burgers, and I’ll score some chips too. I’m fat, of course I’m a good cook.
7:30pm-8am Food, beer, fun, sleep
I’m sure everyone will be tired from being out in the sun, but I’m gonna bring like 2 cases of beer and if you guys wanna bring some too that’d be great. I may drink a little, but not too much. Hangovers and heat suck.
8am-9am Breakfast
Bacon, eggs, biscuits, and gravy. If people don’t like that, then theres something wrong with them. I may go steal some cantelope or watermelon out of the garden there for a treat.
9am-10am Advanced rifle and pistol drills
Since everyone will be full from breakfast, we’ll start them off slow with stoppage drills, random ammo amount reload drills, double tap multi target drills
10am-11am Free time on the range
11am-12pm Lunch. This one is on them. They can eat what they brought. We are teaching them survival afterall.
12pm-1pm Rifle marksmanship competition
This will be a 3 position shoot (prone, kneeling, standing) with one target, 15 rounds of ammo, 50 yards, no time limit, and the person with the tightest group will win. I’ll bring a tape measure. Think we should do prizes?
1pm-2pm Pistol Marksmanship competition
1 target, 15 yards, 20 rounds, no time limit. Tightest group wins.
2pm-3pm 3 weapon competition.
Ok, this is the main event. I have a course drawn out to use all 3 weapons learned at the event to do a timed course of fire consisting of: 15 pistol targets, 5 shotgun targets, and 5 rifle targets. Ammo alloted: 30 pistol rounds, 5 shotgun rounds, and 50 rifle rounds.
That way you get 2 shots per target of pistol, no room for error on the shotgun, and put 10 rounds per target on the 5 rifle targets.
Ranges of fire:
10 yards for pistol, 15 yards for shotgun, and 25 yards for rifle.
Time will be taken off for every unused pistol round, time will be added for every target left standing for pistol and shotgun. Rifle will be judged by group sizing. Overall time will be judged with accuracy for the competition winner.
We’ll use the rifle range for the course, we’ll just have to move some of the target stands from the other ranges.
3pm-4pm Clean up, strike camp, say goodbye and head out. Hopefully that will give everyone time to get home before they have to do whatever on monday.

Depending on attendance levels, and interest in an event next year, I will probably host the event again. Currently I am working on some P.R. for the event with G4TV. (I emailed them, nothing back yet.)
If I could have the event in my home town, then I know I could nail down some sponsorship from Barrett Firearms (as their facility is located here) and several of the gun shops. I have a friend who could possibly let me use his family land here in TN for next year’s event. Of course I’d have to check it out and make sure there weren’t houses or anything that could get hit by gun fire, or build burms, ect. Its still all up in the air until after the first Z.A.C. T.A.C.T. event is over with.
