Depending on attendance levels, and interest in an event next year, I will probably host the event again. Currently I am working on some P.R. for the event with G4TV. (I emailed them, nothing back yet.)
If I could have the event in my home town, then I know I could nail down some sponsorship from Barrett Firearms (as their facility is located here) and several of the gun shops. I have a friend who could possibly let me use his family land here in TN for next year's event. Of course I'd have to check it out and make sure there weren't houses or anything that could get hit by gun fire, or build burms, ect. Its still all up in the air until after the first Z.A.C. T.A.C.T. event is over with.

Remeber, event shirts are on sale at:

Here is the pending itenerary:

Pre Noon:
Hopefully everyone gets there by noon for registration and setting up their tents and stuff.

12:00pm-12:30pm Orientation and Introductions:
We cover what we want to accomplish at the event, basic safety, range commands, and how unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. (Muzzle discipline, and basically being a dick)

12:30pm-1:30pm Know your weapon:
We make sure everyone knows how their guns work, and how the safety features of each gun works, then off to the range. One instructor will take half pistol, and the other half will go with another instructor for rifle.

1:30pm-2:30pm Switch and repeat classes if necessary

2:30pm-3pm Water breaks and rest.

3pm-3:30pm Basic shotgun (sighting and patterning)
Shotgun is damn near self explanatory, and should only take 30 minutes for noobs to figure out. Also, We'll let people shoot each kind of shotgun ammo: Game load, buckshot, and slugs. Just put one of each in the gun and let them cycle through to feel the difference in the recoil.

3:30pm-4:30pm Stress shooting (applies towards advanced marksmanship)
This is going to be kind of a run and gun so that people realize that when your heart is pounding and your adrenaline is up, then you're not as good a shot as when you're standing still and relaxing at the range. Instructors will demonstrate running 50 yards, loading, cycling, and firing the weapons on the move, then let some of the others do it. I'm going to bring a mess of targets for people, but also a huge ass roll of masking tape to conserve them as much as possible. If people want to keep their targets, then they can, but if not, we tape and reshoot. We'll line up 5 targets, and have them do a course of fire on each with all 3 types of weapons. (pistol, rifle, shotgun) and I was thinking of getting a mess of those 4oz. walmart brand cokes for the shotgun targets. Its more fun when you see them explode. speaking of explosions, I was thinking of getting some tannerite. Mua ha aha haha!

4:30pm-5pm Rest and water.

5pm-5:30pm Hand to hand combat demo and technique demo.
Kain and I will do some pre-arranged hand to hand, showing locks, grips, throws, ect for unarmed defense. Maybe work in some knife play and show vital areas for quick takedown and disabling. Emphasis on footwork and evasion. Good footwork is the best foundation for a good hand to hand fighter.

5:30pm-6:30pm Practice makes perfect
Have everyone practice with a partner, trying not to hurt them, using 1/2 or 1/4 speed. Then we show them some more advanced stuff, like combos, vital area attack combos, ect.

6:30pm-7:30pm Free time on range while staff cooks dinner.
I'm going to make and freeze some hamburgers before everyone arrives. I have a secret recipe for fantastic burgers, and I'll score some chips too. I'm fat, of course I'm a good cook.

7:30pm-8am Food, beer, fun, sleep
I'm sure everyone will be tired from being out in the sun, but I'm gonna bring like 2 cases of beer and if you guys wanna bring some too that'd be great. I may drink a little, but not too much. Hangovers and heat suck.

8am-9am Breakfast
Bacon, eggs, biscuits, and gravy. If people don't like that, then theres something wrong with them. I may go steal some cantelope or watermelon out of the garden there for a treat.

9am-10am Advanced rifle and pistol drills
Since everyone will be full from breakfast, we'll start them off slow with stoppage drills, random ammo amount reload drills, double tap multi target drills

10am-11am Free time on the range

11am-12pm Lunch. This one is on them. They can eat what they brought. We are teaching them survival afterall.

12pm-1pm Rifle marksmanship competition
This will be a 3 position shoot (prone, kneeling, standing) with one target, 15 rounds of ammo, 50 yards, no time limit, and the person with the tightest group will win. I'll bring a tape measure. Think we should do prizes?

1pm-2pm Pistol Marksmanship competition
1 target, 15 yards, 20 rounds, no time limit. Tightest group wins.

2pm-3pm 3 weapon competition.
Ok, this is the main event. I have a course drawn out to use all 3 weapons learned at the event to do a timed course of fire consisting of: 15 pistol targets, 5 shotgun targets, and 5 rifle targets. Ammo alloted: 30 pistol rounds, 5 shotgun rounds, and 50 rifle rounds.
That way you get 2 shots per target of pistol, no room for error on the shotgun, and put 10 rounds per target on the 5 rifle targets.
Ranges of fire:
10 yards for pistol, 15 yards for shotgun, and 25 yards for rifle.
Time will be taken off for every unused pistol round, time will be added for every target left standing for pistol and shotgun. Rifle will be judged by group sizing. Overall time will be judged with accuracy for the competition winner.
We'll use the rifle range for the course, we'll just have to move some of the target stands from the other ranges.

3pm-4pm Clean up, strike camp, say goodbye and head out. Hopefully that will give everyone time to get home before they have to do whatever on monday.

I hope yall have a great turnout this round... would love to see it as a re-occuring event. You folks are very informative on a very serious issue that the majority of people in our society don't want to acknowledge, Mostly due to a lack of belief or they're too damn preoccupied with their current hectic life. I don't operate with any group, but am well aware of the pending doom and quite prepared for survival. I come from the woods and will return there when the shit hits the fan. Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois. 28 yrs of paramilitary/militia/ C.Q.C. training as well as the natural gift of being a Scorpion, I am quite interested in the ZAC movement. I'll be watching. Oh... and never under-estimate any opponent. The dead or otherwise. ;)

There is no caliber limit. If you have enough ammo to complete the shooting portions of the training, then you can bring whatever kinds of guns you want. Thats why I suggested the 22lr. because its a common caliber, and cheap. As for booze at the campout: you can have beer or liqour, and it will only be allowed after training is completed for the day, BUT if you get drunk and do anything unsafe, then you will be either: Restrained and confined to your tent, or made to leave. I personaly like to drink, but I will most likely abstain for the event to ensure everyone's safety.

The address will be made publicly available via this website one month before the event so people can plan their trip. I will have enough of the injury waivers on hand to fullfill the required quota of 30 participants. I will compare your ID to the addresses given on the forms you will be required to fill out, so if you need to change the address on your ID I suggest you get it done before the event. None of the event sponsors, promoters, or instructors will be liable for any injury, whether self inflicted or inflicted by others.

As I said before, you are welcome to come on the morning of the 18th, set up camp, and use the range facilities. The actual event will not begin until noon on Saturday the 19th.

All of the training portions will move quickly from lecture, to demonstration, to skills practice.

I suggest everyone bring hot weather gear, and rain gear. (for god's sake, bring lots of sunscreen and insect repellant) The weather will most likely be sunny, but we're going to practice and shoot RAIN OR SHINE. So bring extra clothes, because I can guarantee you're going to get very, very dirty. Depending on the flow of the creek on the property at the time of the event, you can bathe at the waterfall. IF any women are present, then guards will be posted to secure the area for their use should they wish it.
