Zombie Preparedness Center

For those of you in the area of Lenexa, Kansas, Westlake Ace Hardware has a special section of their website just for you. Turns out this location has also been awarded a Zombie Friendly Business Certification as well. It is a shame that more hardware stores are not doing the same thing. Many of us have questions, need ideas, and will eventually require supplies to mount a proper defense. Westlake Ace Hardware has a comprehensive FAQ section that can help you prepare for a proper home defense. Great advice for fortifying your position for the day that the dead walk the earth!
Stay safe. Stay informed. Stay alive.

Happy Halloween all
Bad day for a zombie outbreak. With all of those innocent kids running around dressed up as zombies…
Might be able to tell the difference with this in mind. Real zombies shouldn’t have tattered clothing if the outbreak started today. People dressed up as zombies should have the typical tattered clothing on.
Like my grandpa always used to say. DON’T SHOOT KIDS!
Just kidding… He didn’t say that.

A hardware store is probably considered zombie friendly because they are likely to have more trouble from survivors than from zombies after the zombie apocalypse. That will be the first place people loot.
I say loot, because in the first few days it would be looting. It’s not scavenging or foraging until after total collapse, which would take at few days.
Happy Halloween, hope no one shoots me in the head while I’m shambling ’round the yard and giving out candy…

Anyone see the last episode of walking dead that aired Sunday? Holy crap that was rough.

Shane had to make a decision to make sure the supplies made it back by sacrificing the fat injured guy or nobody got back and in all likelihood the kid dies as well. Tough decisions for a person to make and still hold on to your humanity …or many not

*maybe not many*

I don’t disagree with the decision, you would have to make tough decisions to survive. That episode just puts in strong contrast the things you would have to do to survive. As for his humanity… That would be a hard thing to get over unscathed.

Well, he wouldn’t have had to make that decision if he’d have just died in the first couple of episodes like he did in the comic book. LOL!

I like the dynamic Shanes character adds to the show. I didn’t read the comic book so I don’t have any preconceived notions of what it should be. Probably a good thing as I’m usually the guy who is pissed they didn’t follow the book closely enough. Good show, though this season is a little heavy on the drama, I shamefully admit that I was hoping for a bit more senseless violence ><

That’ll be coming soon enough.

I didn’t follow the comics either although I did know it existed. Also the same opinion on the movie following the book or movie depending on what your first experience was, however, I agree with kirkmans point of view of what if…. and why rehash a known storyline. Perhaps this way he had a chance to redo and expand the story

hey viking, are we still getting the prizes for that contest?

I am wondering if Shane will still end up running off after all that has happened, I feel as if he is too big of a main character to have him run away from the rest of the group.

I think shane is still attached to Carl and wont just run off after what has happened, it seems that he is in a difficult state of making up for his past mistakes. He is trying to survive and will do anything he can in order to survive but he will stand up for Carl because of the father figure he provided for him when they though Rick was dead. That being said at this point it could go either way (though his character does provide a realistic insight into the story about how we all need to make hard choices when faced with difficulty). Its the old saying, “I dont need to outrun them…. I just need to outrun you”. Shane did what he had to do and in his place I cant say I wouldnt’ve have made the same decision, A stranger vs my best friend’s son? It would seem as though it would be no contest. Though thankfully I wont need to make that decision seeing as How I’ll be on a boat sailing south if this ever goes down.
