I've been awful busy with school and work and training, sorry.

As far as my squad or group goes, I would really like to incorporate a wider range of skillsets than just pure martial-survivalist specialist. My group consists of mostly people I went to school with and have known and trusted for a few years.

1) Myself, hand-to-hand combat, reconnaissance, agriculture specialist.

2) C.D., an army bomb disposal squad member, also an expert shooter and damned good handyman.

3) S.S., almost no martial or survival training, but has been an aviation and automotive mechanic for years, a degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering.

4) B.R.J., no martial or survival training to speak of, mostly a musician, but he's also really good at audio engineering and electrical engineering. Works as a nurse at the local hospital.

5) J.B., mostly self-taught general martial arts expert, but also a local MMA fighter. Works in construction. Good at carpentry.

6) J.S. Certified chef. Very very good cook. No significant martial or survival training. But he is a damned good cook. Damned good.

7) M.R. former marine, and certified auto mechanic.

8) I.M. former marine and current pre-med student.

I didn't list the loadout of my friends because quite frankly I am not not sure what they currently own. They sometimes sell their guns and buy new ones. For myself, I've got a Colt .38 snubnose (was my father's, so it's more sentimental than instrumental, but it'll still serve) and I expect to pick up more weapons along the way. I've also got a glaive blade that I need cut a haft for, I have a hatchet that I carry in my car, a few machetes, and a garage full of just about any tool anyone would need for just about anything, thanks to Harbor Freight and my mother who never knows what to get me for presents. I also have a small tractor on my mom's farm with PTO drive and tillbox attachment, post digger, and front loader. As you can see, my squad has a very wide range of skills, I'm very interested in preserving a good pool of knowledge to rebuild civilization from. My group is focused more on long-term survival rather than short-term, but there's also some redundancy involved so that if I lose a member of the group, we wouldn't lose that role.

Myself - Loadout: DPMS AP4 (AR15 clone) in 5.56, Beretta 92FS 9mm, machete, hachet, large selection of knives both folding and fixed blade. Pros: I'm a decent shot. Fairly level headed in an emergency. Most important, I'm the gear guy of the group. I've spent a fair ammount of money (with plans to spend quite a bit more) on manuals and equipment planning for not so much short term survival as long term living and rebuilding as well as passing on knowledge to future generations that will have to survive as well. Cons: I'm not in the best shape.

Detailing the others in my group would take quite a while, as they are numerous. We have covered our bases pretty well, though. We have two military personnel, one is active duty MI and the other is a veteran of Desert Shield/ Desert Storm. We have a teacher with a double major in teaching and psychology. A professional chef who's green thumb would let him grow orchids on concrete. One chemist that currently works for a polymer manufacturing company. A physics major that dabbles in brewing. There are several others as well. Their loadouts will depend on what they have available to them at the time, supplemented somewhat from my small arsenal. Most are at least passable marksmen with a few truly excellent shots. Most important, they are all dedicated to the plan with out being so fanactical as to be inflexible should something unexpected happen. We're a diverse group of well educated individuals that realize that a zombie apocalypse is about one of the worst apocalyptic scenarios that humans have a chance of surviving. If you're prepared for zombies you're ready for anything easier. Anything worse than zombies will probably annihilate the species outright with no chance of surviving and rebuilding.

Train like you fight. - Speren

P.S. I don't know about an article per month, but I would be willing to contribute if anyone is interested. I think Angryvikingman is still on my Facebook from where I was trying to help with the ZACTAC t-shirts.

Bryton- First thing you need to do is forget about dual pistols. Also, don't assume that your friend in the military is good with guns unless you have seen him shoot.

SBR GUY- Looks like a well rounded squad. Multiple skill sets covered and a variety of weapons for every situation. I don't agree with every individual loadout, but every shooter has quality guns to choose from.
