For those who have not heard of the Zombie Reporting Center website, pay them a visit and add them to your favorites. Always interesting and frequently updated. While reading their RSS feed this evening, this report stood out: ”The Post-Apocalyptic Workout“. Take a moment to read it as it contains valuable insight into the survival tactics needs for when the dead walk the earth.
I feel that the zombie workout is an often times overlooked area of preparing for the attack of the undead. I myself am guilty for not preparing in certain areas and look to the near future to change those bad habits to ensure my survival. We are interested in your planning and training for the dark times ahead. How are you preparing?

While we might feel that we are prepared, have you actually considered the steps you would take during a zombie attack? The ”Zombie Scenario” helps with that task. This scenario deals with an outbreak at work. Continue Reading »

Some say that the best offense is a good defense. We tend to agree, especially when speaking of an undead outbreak.
Many times during a debate regarding the proper zombie defense tactic and plan, someone will make mention that you should go on the offensive and not sit back, waiting on the undead to find their way to your location. While many believe (myself included) that the zombies will be slow and clumsy, it would be foolish to base all of your plans around this as it has yet to be proven. With that said, you should not rely on slow and clumsy zombies thinking you can turn yourself into Rambo, instantly going on the offensive, shredding all of the undead that comes your way. Another example that everyone should consider their plan. What is yours?

In movies and games that populate the lives of many we see the hero standing up as the undead close in around him. First he empties his long gun, if he even has one, and as the enemy closes in all around he draws his pistol. Depending on the movie or game it is often a revolver, large and powerful the symbol of American gun perfection, the soul of the old west. He brings up his gun and fires till they are all dead. In real life he pulls the trigger six times, maybe hitting half that number of zombies and maybe killing one, and as he tried desperately to reload dropping the cartridges because his hands shake with fear and adrenaline he is over whelmed and consumed. Did he have the right weapon for close range zombie defense? Continue Reading »

In the inevitable zombie holocaust where the undead walk and cannot be quickly destroyed your own home will not longer offer you sanctuary, be it for lack of food or that zombies have worked their way through your defenses. Or maybe at the beginning of an outbreak you run and need to find a safe place to hide with you cadre of fellow zombie survivalists. As you search you will likely come across one of the now common super shopping centers. These centers may offer the appearance of safety along with a number of other attributes, but do not be fooled. When it comes to those seeking the very best and impenetrable zombie fortress available, perhaps we have been looking in the wrong direction. Most recently, discussion and debate was launched regarding underground facilities and if such a setup would be the most adequate method of defense. Would underground be the best option or would underwater? Continue Reading »
