The only way to increase your survival rate during any zombie outbreak is to become better educated and aware.  ZAC encourages everyone to continually run through mock scenarios.  “What if a zombie outbreak occurred here?”  Or, “what would we do if zombies were doing this?”  During our research, we have found that people typically think of weapons and other offensive means of surviving an outbreak, but rarely think through an attack from a defensive light.

Recently, a question was posed to the ZAC that we felt was worth addressing. Perhaps in jest, we were asked if “acting dead” would prove to be a useful survival tactic during an undead outbreak.There are certainly arguments for it, such as the fact that the average studies have shown how generally clumsy zombies actually are. Thank you to everyone for helping support and promote “Zombies Are Coming”.  Zombies have claimed the lives of countless victims leaving empty families in the wake.  It is up to us to take matters into our own hands and be prepared to combat these ghouls.This month’s Safety Council tip pertains to zombie attacks while you may be eating out with your family.  Scientific studies have shown that while zombies have minimal brain activity, portions of their memories remain, allowing the zombies to access certain information from their past.

If you are eating out and a zombie outbreak occurs, your best escape route is through a backdoor, via the kitchen.  That little memory recall that a zombie might have access to would lead them to attack via the front door.  If you are there during a busy time then the zombies will be occupied with those waiting to be seated, freeing you up to flee out of the back.  As you run through the back, and if you are unarmed, look for items to distract zombies, such as fire extinguishers etc.  Make your exit as soon as possible and if you can use those distractors, do so in order to get to your car.

Do not make the mistake of expecting zombies to be distracted by throwing food at them.  In general, they are not interested in the same food items as the living.  However, raw meat might offer enough of an interruption for you to escape.

Be safe out there, friends.  Be sharp.  Be aware.

Welcome to the Zombies Are Coming official site, promoting awareness and safety of the coming tides of darkness.

Being prepared is no longer a luxury, but an essential survival requirement.  Studies of past outbreaks have proven that ghoulish attacks vary in many ways, thus, it is critical that we plan, plan, and plan some more.  This site is dedicated to that and will work to promote awareness to no end.  For those of you who have zombie defense tips or tactics that you wish to share, please feel free to contact our safety council and let us know.
